So I finally tinted my lights

But I have a question for anyone who has done this with Spray tint

Ok so I will start from the beging
-I took them off
-used the spray tint 4 coats or so
-then put clear coat on them 6 coats
At this point it was all good but I wanted them super glossy soo
-I wet sanded them, got them nice and smooth
-meguirs paint cleaner
-meguirs polish
-meguirs wax

My problem arises here there looks like there is a film on them ????

do you think they look like theres a film on them because the clear you use is not crystal clear.I've seen clears that had a tint of yellow and even a blueish.I dont know anything about vht,but I've see people use transparent black r/c modelers paint.you can get at any hobbie store. And spary the lamp from the inside. It ends up looking flawless and will last for a long time+It wont scratch off. Any pics fluff?

No it looked good with just the clear but it wasnt completly smooth

when I wet sanded it , it went foggy but super smooth but when I take a wet rag to it it looks good for a minute they goes back to looking like there is a film on it its like I didnt get all the wax off but I pretty sure I did

I may clay bag it or just put more clear but if I do more clear it will be back to the way it was which was not bad but I want it seemless so the look like part of the body ( as much as they can)

best job I've ever seen was sprayed from the inside. And it cuts out a whole lot of crap.I just havent tryied to open up the tails before so I'm not sure if it easy or not.

I used 1000 grit

It sounds like wax but I dont think it is

So today I took them off again and
re sanded them a little and the
re cleared

used scratch remover
then polish
then wax

they look alot better I think when I have a full day to work on the im going to

re sand
re clear

5 or 6 times but I need some higher grit sand paper I think

does anyone know what the guys who do detailing use for sand paper when they have to get out a deep scratch ??

now that you say you were only going to 1000 do you think you were getting buffing compound, polish or wax in the scratches that you could'nt get out by hand.Take the wet sanding to 2000 before buff, polish, wax. it will look alot better. The buffing compound is what takes out your fine scratches.polishing will clear the haze left, and waxing is to protect.Right?

Yea, Id definately recommend at the very least 1600 before you buff. 1000 is too coarse for a final sanding.

I was going to do that but I cant fing the sand paper

But so far I have
-6 thin coats of clear
-wet sand 800 grit
-2 coats clear
-wet sand 1000 grit
-1 coat clear
-wet sand 1000 grit

They are looking 10 times better but I need higher grit sand paper

As it stands right now they look really good (I will take a pic and post it soon) but I can feel some rough spots

It seems that every time I do a clear coat they get better but Ive hit a wall in that they arent getting better enought until I get better sand paper Im going to leave it be

Do you have a Home Depot or something like that up there? You can get a multi-pack of sandpaper there.
