why would you ditch the comptech springs? just buy new struts, like infamous said you would have had to do it sooner or later anyway since you are putting on springs.

just get some tokico blues for 270 bucks and you'll be fine.

What else exactly do you want to know?

You say you don't have the money to go crazy, but you are talking about getting ss coilovers? Those cost a grand.

You've got a blown strut. You don't really have many options. You can replace with oem, which will detiorate quickly with the aftermarket springs. You can get koni yellow adjustables or tokico illumina adjustables for $500-550. Or you can get tokico blues for around $300.

I'll sell you my oem shocks if you want to go cheap, $100 shipped.

ive been readin thru the archives and it seems that the blues are like the iluminas on settin number 3... but are the tein ss really worth it? are they better than the CT springs w/ Koni yellows or Iluminas?

I went to Central CT for a semester, lived in New Britain. Grew up in Ridgefield.

Anyway if I was you I'd go with the Tokico blues. Everyone I have talked to has been happy with them. They are cheaper because they aren't adjustable, but they aren't cheap quality ya know.

I'm actually dropping my 01 cls off today to get comptech springs, tokico blues, and comptech sways installed. I can give you a review of them when I pick up my car at 5pm.

i have the illuminas

no problems so far

my setup is comptech springs with illuminas struts/shocks

if i did it all again i would have gotten the TEINS

because i want to go lower and stiffer now!

well i mean its really not that much of a money difference.. i already have a shop so i get the parts at wholesale pricing.. i just wanted to see if the consensus was that the tein ss were better than any spring/ shock setup available.. and btw BeetRoot if youre in the Connecticut area i do installs.. weve already installed tons of Comptech stuff and Tein SS and EDFC on a TL and my CL
