that's WITH nav right? 31900 is too much... I paid 28350 for mine without nav... I:'d say the most you should pay is 31K with nav... anything more and tell them to sell it to some other fool...

Price

You are paying way too much. I paid $30300 for my 2003 CL-S w/navi + locks + mudflaps - essentially $30K for the car + navi.

Just make a straight offer... they should accept it - if not, another
dealer will (and make sure you let them know that!)

John, do what i do when shopping for cars...

Go and email the acura dealers around you.. and tell them you are looking for a CLS 6-speed with navi, and that you will come in the same day to the first dealer who agrees with the price of $30,400.

Plan and simple. Works everytime for me.

If you are ready to buy the car soon, then I can email the local dealers for you, and give them your number... let me know.

Got some prices today from dealer. 03 S 6speed.
Sticker $31.5
Verbal from rep - $29.4
Finance price quote from finance dept - 30,295.
walked out, if they can't stick to the price rep stated to me to entice me, then I was outta there., they didn't take me seriously I guess, I waited there 2 hours for all these checks, appraisals, crap.

Used dept had an 01 S with 30k, asking $27.5, then offered at $23.9 with w 1 xtra year & 12k xtra miles on std warranty.

I didn,'t bite at any of it, not that desperate for one right now.
I want to pay closer to $20k for an auto and $25k for a 6 speed.
I can wait, my Legend is still very fun to drive. plus the resale on used cars is poor now.

I just put a downpayment on a 03 CL type S 6spd - $29,495 (no navi). Edmunds.com says that the car's invoice is $28,659. So I guess I paid 800 over invoice. First dealer I went to wanted high 29s, so I checked w/ the other local dealership to see what they could do.

Since I wanted a San Marino Red typeS 6spd w/ parchment interior I'll have to wait to see if if they can locate one (locator database was down - both dealers said that), or they'll have to have it built for me. Hopefully I won't have to wait to long The only 6spd typeS on either lot was Satin Silver Metallic.

If you're buying a car that the dealer has on their lot, you should/could be closer to invoice. They'll have to work less if it's on their lot. With a $30K car, I didn't mind paying a few hundred dollars to get *exactly* what I wanted.

Edmunds.com says that people are paying 31,9 (they call it TMV or true market value) for a 03 CLS w/ navi so it looks like the quote is in the ball park. I wanted to pay something between invoice and edmunds.com's TMV which is what I got. You might want to haggle a little more.

Ohh.. Honda Finance is doing a special on the Acura CL. 2.9% APR upto 24 mo, 3.9% APR 25-36 mo and 4.9% APR 37-60 mo .

You didn't say if you're looking for a 6spd or auto but I was told that the 6spd w/ navi is harder to get in certain colors. One dealer said that each dealership is alloted *one* 6spd car per month. Just curious, can anyone confirm this ??

John

CLS 6spd wannabe (one step closer)
