STI.......

You must have got your RSX in early 02 becuase I think they changed sinkro's(sp?) and solved the problem. Although before I bought my CLS I test drove an 03 RSX-S with 1mile on it and 2nd and 3rd gear were grinding sooo bad that we had to turn around on the test drive and take it back.

Unless your planning on taking the car to the track you will never notice that the EVO handles better than the STI. They were testing these on road courses and rally tracks

You can tell, I like both cars (have an Evo, drove the STi several times).....but the Evo is more communicative overall. You're paying the price in the ride dept (STi is less harsh), but that comes with the territory.

I think the SkyCar has it!!

If it were me I'd prob look at a used sc430 or something. Get the 8cyl.. Or wait for the new Lx models.

get the STi... people forget that the with the STi you can alter how much power goes to front or rear wheels. The evo doesn't do that... the addition in displacement and power are also a plus. Not to mention Mitsubishi sucks...

Those are some shitty choices. In the ~$32k and under category I'd be looking at WRX, Evo8, 350Z, and s2000.

STi looks ugly, sounds ugly, and people steal stuff off them.
A4 is boring looking and not sporty enough.
Same with the IS300.

Feh, I like how the STi looks...and what do you mean it sounds ugly? It's not like it sounds like a civic with a fartpipe exhaust or anything, it's got a nice, very deep exhaust note plus the joy of the turbo spooling up...

As for people stealing stuff off them. Yeah, that's why I keep mine locked up at night and never park it where people can mess with it or where I can't at least keep an eye on it.

Having said that, it's not a car I would recommend for everybody and it's definately not a luxury car...but in the evo/sti game, most people a) like these types of cars, b) often like a particular make, c) are willing to give up a bit of comfort to own what is basically a high-powered AWD rally car.

Deathlock, is that your STi? I like it alot.. The blue was actually my first choice, but I went ahead and got the silver for some reason.

I did a lil experiment and took out the wing, but I have to put it back again cause of the freakin holes...

Yes it is mine. If you're going to remove the wing logic suggests swapping the whole trunk lid out for a regular WRX trunk lid (with either no, or a smaller, wing).

Oddly enough, there's another guy in my apartment complex who also has an STi (silver). He swapped his trunk lid out for a carbon fiber one, which I think looks horrid personally.

I can understand why some people don't like the wing, but if you paid so much for the STi already it seems a little silly to undo the unique look of the car. I thought about it, but figured it wasn't worth paying more to make my car look less like an STi.

Of course, this is coming from a guy who has had his STi for 3 months and has less than 700 miles on it still...

Yeah, for some reason when i took the wing out it doesn't go smoothly with the hood scoop.. It's like a balance of some sort, but I really grown out with the wing on it and I like it alot.. I saw another guy at NASIOC and did that same thing as you are referring and it looks like poop.. So yeah, you got to stick with the heritage rally look.. You are almost to the break in period, just hang in there buddy.. I know how it feels.. Hehehe!! Hitting full boost is such a trip!!

Didn't realize you owned one. :o

But yeah, I don't like how the big rear wing looks tacked on because of the big thick bottom support on it, compared to the Evo's which looks more a part of the car and in better proportion to the rest of the car. I never saw one without the wing but 4thGSi's looks pretty cool like that.

I don't like the sound of the boxer style engines. I prefer the smooth sound of an inline 4, 5, or 6 cylinder. That's just me. =)
