Where did you get a ticket for tints in NJ? I live in northern NJ and I have 20% tints on my TL. It is close to limo tints all around.

I got the Ticket in Rutherford. How would I pass inspection with front window tints?

Leave the windows down during inspection, or take it to someone you know

Yes, tint comes off with ammonia. I had to remove the tint from my 94 Lexus GS300 when I moved to NJ. If you know someone in the service business who does inspections, they'll pass it. Lighter tint might work here but not dark. Any of the slightest irregularities with your driving and they have an excuse to pull you over,

Get a medical waiver. Tint is legal if you can get a waiver from your doctor saying that sunlight affects your driving vision. This is especially true if you have cataracts (sp?). Anyone in here driving a CL Type S have cataracts? Anyone here old enough to have cataracts?

Lived in Hopkins for 10 years, originally from San Antonio, TX. The CL-S wasn't out when I was there, last week when I visited I saw 1 Gold on 494 near the MOA. Last I was there, any tint darker than the tint already on the factory windshield is a no go.

If a cop sees any tint, they'll still stop you and ask you to roll up the window.

Yes, now shutup. ...... actually you have a better chance of getting a waiver for skin cancer. That would explain the need for the side tinting.

Yup and they will depending on where you are. I always hear people complaining in CA for being pulled for tints but there it is illegal to have any tint on the front windows i believe. Now here in Florida the cops couldnt give a rats ass. People have 35 percent on windshields and no problems

I got a tint ticket for my CRX. I just paid it and never took the tint off. Cops are just really bored in Northern NJ, I got pulled over in my CL the other night for having aftermarket turn signals.

I'll go see my opthamologist and ask about the waiver. I developed cataracts in both eyes when I was 27, and had surgery 18 months ago. I guess I am one of those unlucky mofo's....

I'm still bothered by direct sunlight, especially during sunrise and sunset. The glare can be pretty nasty at times. Headlights at night bug me too, especially those damn HIDs. I'm sure I could still get a waiver for the front tint -- as long as they are available in Florida.

A fellow I work with in NJ had a probe with tinted windows (I'd guess 20%). He got no end of grief because of the tint . . . he was pulled over at least three times in Chatham Township. The first two times was the same cop, who gave him a warning both times (apparently the first time the cop also tried to buy the car !?!) The third time was a different cop who just gave him a ticket. He couldn't even just pay the $20, 'cause the ticket required a court appearance.

He never did remove the tint, he just stopped driving through Chatham. Finally he sold the probe and bought a Mustang, so now he gets a different kind of ticket . . .

I think if you don't remove the tints they will happily write you a new ticket.

Tint in MN is 50% all around, any darker and you will eventually get a ticket.

F cops!
