Need help estimating upcoming costs

Hi Guys....
I own a 2002 CL that has 138K on it. My tranny went @ 50K and Acura replaced it under warranty. Question is, now Im trying to figure out whether to keep it or sell it.

Besides getting the tranny fixed, regular oil changes, breaks and tires, I have never taken the car to the dealership for work.

Im trying to estimate how much more $$ am I gonna have to throw in it in the near future in order to keep it running? Like timing belt? tranny?

Plan for another new tranny at around 3-4k. If you do the oddy tranny sway, it will be cheaper then taking the old one for a rebuild.
You should also do the 105k service now. That should run about 800 bucks for the timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, valve adjustment, etc.
These are the only things I have spent money on since I've owned the car from 70k, besides the items you have mentioned above and mods

Engine mounts, may need axles, your AC may go....really with the glass tranny I'd dump it.
It's only worth maybe $5-6K.

So just to update you guys, I went to CARMAX today just to get an appraisal on the car. They offered $1500!

Are they low balling or is that the going rate for 2002 CL these days? If that's what the car is really worth, then spending 4K on a tranny and 1K on all belts makes no sense.. What do you guys think?

It's the age & miles. They have to wholesale the car to get rid of it. There's not really a market for the car. Those are the things carmax gets it's pricing from.

They offered my brother $300 for his old Camry. Unless your car is nearly new and pristine, theyre going to rape you. If you want out, sell it privately. You might get $5k out of it.

1500 is definately not a good price . At that price drive it til it breaks.
