Need help! Buying new rims and springs!

Have an 01 CL. I'm planning to get the axis seven mods, 18 inch. Which dimension of tire best fits with these rims and our car? Also I want to drop the car at the same time. I'm looking for only like a 1.5 or 2 inch drop. Which brand do you guys suggest. I was thinking about comptech but the drop is not evenly distributed between the front and the back. I heard Tein is a good brand. Any advice will help. Also, how necessary is it to buy new shocks along with the springs and also to get an alignment. Thanks!

I was going to go with those wheels. Problem with them was I couldn't fit a 235\40\18 from what I was reading, because of the offset of those wheels (+42). I think maybe a 225\40 will fit with those wheels and a comptech drop, but not sure. Might want to try a search.

As far as your drop, I have comptech and yes its uneven, but I personally like the slight rake look it gives the car. It is the pefect height IMO, plus comptech's quality is unmatched (although i'm partial to comptech stuff, just read my sig )With the comptech drop you can keep the stock shocks. Its a little bouncier than you might want tho. I went with Tokico Blue HP's for 299\set .. good compliment to the CT spring setup, stiffens the ride without degrading ride quality .. doesn't reduce driveability.

Is the gap between the tire and fender bigger in the rear than the front? I just noticed the my gap is even but the distance between the rocker panel and the ground is about an inch lower in the front.

Car looks sharp....how many inches between the tire and the fender for the Comptech drop?

I've got an anthracite as well w/ spoiler....still waiting to drop it and wanted a clean drop, but too low and not too much gap.

gsr, thanks for the compliment
I'm not sure how many inches, but I could measure tomorrow for ya. You can't get much cleaner of a drop than comptech .. but I'm partial to comptech's stuff There isnt much gap.
