Need Help.....

Have two cars tied up in my credit right now. My CL-S and helped my sister buy her 03Grand Am GT. She and I are both listed as owners of the Grand Am. I there a way I can call up GMAC and get it transferred to just her name ?

Has anyone here ever done this ?
I need to free up some credit.
Thanks all,

If you co-signed the car you definitely should be able to transfer sole ownership to your sister. I'm not sure of the exact way to go about it, but it can be done

Well, that may be true about the ownership, but the loan will still be in BOTH names until the last payment is made.
The only way to get that loan off your credit is for your sister to get e NEW loan or refinance the one she has in her own name.

It is possible to transfer ownership of the car. You just have to pick up the correct form from your license office. But the loan will stay until paid.

Typically, she will need to RE-FI, sell or payoff the loan. You can call GMAC and see if they will modify the loan, but I am seriously doubting it.
