Why not buy an aftermarket navi?

Instead of somethin' that is based off of such an old technology?

just have a paint shop paint over the chrome. as long as they prep/sand it good you dont need to buy new ones.

You think that with the prep work to paint them, and then the actual paint job, it would be more cost effective on my part bro -vs- just buying new OEM ones?

Well nick, because. Because its oem. Because the double din, cut plastic to make something fit that's not supposed to be there, with an aftermarket headunit -- that look just isn't for me anymore. Because I don't want a suction cup on my windshield. That's why, nick. Because. Hope that answers. So what if its not the newest technology? It still works and serves the purpose right? Yes. I like the clean, oem look of things.

one question i've always had is, will the steering wheel controls still work for the volume with aftermarket units?

i installed the avic d3 with unclad's dash kit and i think i looks a hole lot better than stock and i have the new technology...the only down fall is not having the steering wheel control but theres a module out there that can fix that... and i think it looks flush to me...pics are posted in phot gallery...but to each their own....its all about what YOU like...so much respect to this project....let us know how it goes...

ps: i got the head unit and dash kit for about 700 and the install was so much easier...only took about 2 hours if that....1 to install, another 1 to read the wiring diagram for the harness and get trashed....lol

gl and def take pics...

Thanks man, I will for sure

And by the way, I wasn't ragging on the double-din and aftermarket look. I just came from my last vehicle with that setup. How I am, I like to change shit all the time (hence I'm on my 4th set of wheels after having the car for a little over a year)... and with aftermarket stuff I get bored. So it was just a best fit for me to do OEM
