Navigation Survey

Did anyone else receive a survey in the mail regarding the Acura Navigation in the CL/TL/RL? Is this standard practice to mail these out a few months after the cars purchase?

The survey was real quick and with it came a laminated "Shortcut" sheet that had all the basic functions of the Navi and how to use it. Pretty cool.

Yeah, I got my survey last week, and I got my car in October '02. Yeah, that laminate sheet is pretty cool, but why didn't they give it to me when I purchased my car?? I already figured out how to cancel routings and perform detours, hmm.....

Well as usual that doesn't make to much sense jim. The new Accord was designed during the current CL's production. If it was going to be around next year and Acura was going to redesign it, we would have seen this much more "sophisticated" Navi in the new CL.

Hows the Navi in your pickup truck jim? Oh thats right they don't offer Nav as an option. Only gun racks and a confederate flag. Did you get either of those dealer installed options?

Dealer installed Confederate Flag? I thought is was a factory option made standard this year.

In answer to your question, No.

The only communication I've received from Acura after my purchase (4/2002) was the TLC welcome packet with a laminated shortcut guide on how to operate the whole car (not Navi alone). I've also received 2 Acura Style magazines, a JDPower survey, OnStar sign-up package, and a few dealer coupons (as if $32 for an oil change, or $69 for a alignment is a deal worthy of a coupon ). I think I got one email from Acura Ownerlink when the TSX came out. That's about it.

If it's not a data DVD with the Acura Navigation, nothing.

It's a DVD. ETA one year ago (it's sadly way overdue).

The truck is doing great, thanks for asking!

and regardless, people buying 03 TL or CL with navi are getting the shaft no matter how you slice it or dice it.

beleive it or not, there is a gun rack kit available for the Dodge Ram (non extended cab version) that clips into the holes that holds up the little storage bins that comes stock.

Goldie: There is a way to do this, but I am short on the details. I think Nicky Pass knows how to do this. You need to add a cable somewhere. PM him.

As do I.

Can't argue with Jim that the new Navi isn't better, cuz it is. However after fooling around with one of the new ones we ain't missing all that much.

I would think you would be getting a survey too. Makes no sense if ya don't.
