Navigation issue - resolved

I guess it was August sometime that I had mentioned I was having issues with my navigation system. I was not in the correct location on the map. I was way off course. Well anyways I had taken it into the dealership but because I was over the manufacturer's warranty they would not look at it without a fee and told me that I would most likely have to replace the whole system. Well anyways, I ended up writing a letter to Acura, basically telling them that I thought it was ridiculous that a $2000 option breaks right after the warranty. Its in my opinion something like this should have a second warranty. So, I guess about a month ago, Acura apparently got in touch with my dealership and they in turn got in touch with me. To keep a long story short, I finally have a functional navigation system.

that's freaking awesome. try to get a response like that from VW i had a "squeaking" clutch in my 92 Accord Coupe since it was new. it came and went. finally the clutch began sticking at 82,000 miles (which was under 3 years - i drive a lot). because i had complained about it a number of times while in warranty, they replaced the clutch for free as well as checking out some other stuff!

curious - what did they do to fix your navi?

They had to wait to have one shipped in. So I am assuming they replaced the whole thing.

Good for you.. this what make Acura/Honda a great company..
I dealt with Acura when I had a major "rebuild" of my CLS engine at 3000 miles....

I was compenstated of my griefs/trouble with:

1) Free loaner the whole time my CLS was being serviced (6 weeks)
2) 1-month payment rebate of close to 1G.
3) 100,000 miles/6 years PT extended warranty.

Sure I could have lemonded my CLS... but what better than that you can get? does GM do that? Ford....? dream on....Chryslyer... maybe after some 100 years...
