Navi question- sorta technical.....

Now here's the question:

Since there are 7 million points of interest now, and the detailed mapping coverage is expanded to include more states/areas, does anyone have any idea if a single DVD could possibly have enough room to include detailed mapping of all 48 states AND have all the points of interest as well (of course considering that it would have much more than 7 million POI)??

Also, does anyone know the old or new processing speeds? It seems that the new system is 3 or 4 times faster than the old system....

DVD disk can hold 9 giga bytes on 2 layer 2 sides... a lot.. but even for 1 side it still a lot... once you exceed the limits of the DVD you may see CF Hard-drive solutions...

Yes, but I wonder how much space would be used to fully map the entire U.S.

Plus, the points of interest? Millions of 'em?
