Put the NAVI in the mode so it shows you on the map.
(THIS IS A KEY STEP)
then press menu + mapguide + cancel and hold them.
Press each button and hold a split second apart in that order.
Should work after a few trys. Make sure you go back to the map mode before trying again...
You'll find the GPS info in one of the buttons.
F.Y.I don't hit the download button! If you do by accident just make sure to wait until the update finishes. If you shutoff the car while the download/update is running, it'll render your NAVI useless. And you'll be making a trip to the dealer.

Be careful about fooling around with the Navi in the diagnostic mode. You could screw things up pretty badly.
Why do you want to know how many sats? Usually you can see at least 4 or 5, sometimes a few more in the northern hemisphere. You can get a cheap handheld GPS that will always tell you how many and exactly where those sats are located.
