Nope, its an original...he was wondering if he got a new disc it would fix it, but the discs are like $50+ a piece and he doesnt feel like she should be responsible for a malfunctioning disc. Cause he's never taken it out or anything...

He tried using special cleaner for DVD's on it also...still the same problem

If he tried to load another DVD in there, the old data is dumped and the original CD will not work anymore. Other than that, I would say that the Navi unit itself may have taken a dump.

See if there’s another member in your area with the same version NAVI DVD and try to swap them.
If it works, it’s a bad DVD.
Buy the latest upgrade from Acura (185-bucks) or an older used version on EBAY.

If the DVD doesn’t work, something is wrong with the drive.

It MUST be the same version disc when you test it or the system will attempt to upgrade the software and you won’t be able to go back without resetting everything.
