nice goin. u planning on trying to hook a carputer up to it? ...is that the good reason the drive isn't centered/your other idea for it? Is that even possible lol? Cause that would be sick - OEM looking carputer.

$925 for a stock navi system that doesn't make the stereo sound any better or add any inputs/outputs? Pass.......

You did a great job on it though, kudos.

edit: I see this is an old thread, whoops

I just need the Navi DVD which will come in in tomorrow or thursday.

A/C working, everything is working as of right now.

It doesnt feel like my car as it now has a screen in the dash haha.

Now all I have to do is change my sig and add that its now a Navi.

Oh and since i thought and was told that the original bulb was bad, i bought another screen and drive off of ebay on Monday. It came in today and when I found out that the original screen is working, I also plugged in the stuff i got off of ebay. They work too. Now I'm either going to put it in the TL or just re-sell it soon..

Conversion cost:
$775 for drive, screen, dash panel, climate control, pigtails to cc
$35 for pigtails to drive
$100 for all wiring (still have A LOT left over)
$10 for Solder
$5 for some random things here and there (blown fuses and so on)..

Grand total: $925

I love it..
I know its a year old thread, but I just payed for my Navi stuff on ebay. Art, if I fly you down here, will you help me with this proj?

My NBP CL-S6 came with navi. Nice job. I personally think the navi system is crap for actual navigation. "Turn left, turn right, turn left, turn right, turn left, turn right." when it could have just had you go up 3 blocks and turn left instead. Anytime I use it I get to the destination and realize there was a much faster way to get there.

There aren't any steering wheel buttons for the navi.

Lightbulb Apparently the prices have dropped...

I've found numerous sources all over the net for the screen and drive $100 total.

I'm guessing all i really would need is the mounting bracket which i've found for $5

on ebay as well as the dash, and some wiring? If anyone knows part numbers,

that would be awesome. Is this project do-able for someone who has installed numerous Cd

players, and has a bud who works for acura. Or will I be running into a lot of

problems.

HELP! Thanks

you need more than that, I dont really even know where to begin. Just going to wait till the parts come in, then get the diagram sheets and go from there.

I did mine back in Nov. 07. And everything works great! I bought my system off of a member here on the boards. If I had to do it all again I could finish within a day once the wiring harness was made and all the parts present. The only wire I did not hook up was the reverse wire. Haven't needed it. Really wasn't bad at all. Good luck to anyone brave enough to give it a try.

I did this also for a total of a little less than $350 including everything. Everything works great except for the dvd that came with is from 2001 so a lot of stuff is missing. Only problem i've been having is once in a blue moon it won't turn on at all with the car, but if I turn the car on and off it'll kick right back on. I've been too lazy to tear apart the car and check the wires but I will one of these days. Good luck to everyone who tries this. Not really a hard project, just time consuming. Anybody need any advice or help PM me.
