Navi Acting Up in Cold Weather

I just got back from a road trip to Illinois and I found it kind of odd that my Navi struggled every morning when I started the car and it was below 25 degrees outside. First it was really slow in booting up and then the GPS sensors would put me off the road in never-never land. It was all jacked up for about 20 minutes and then everything was fine. I live in California and my car has never seen anything below freezing until now. Is this normal? I'd find it really frustrating if I lived in a cold weather place.

Never had problems with mine even when it's below zero like it is right now. Could be caused by moisture. I know my girlfriends car has issues with the GPS cause she parks in a heated garage where it's humid. Once she parks outside the humid air condenses into ice on the insides of her windows and on the disc too. When things heat back up it takes a while for the ice to melt off.

That sounds plausible. In any case, I live in sunny California so I do not need to worry about it anyway. I was just curious.

Explain how it is acting up... not booting up? not accurately showing your location?

During boot up, the system never showed the 'OK' button. I had to hit the menu button before it appeared on the screen. Then my position was incorrect and pointed in the wrong direction as well. After about 10 minutes the position was correct, but pointed in the wrong direction. After about another 10 minutes everything was fine.
