Clutchmasters or OEM

So my clutch is gone after about 1500 miles (luk oem aftermarket) I used this to learn how to drive manual and now it's time to get a real clutch. Now the car has a ctsc with the HBP, so which clutch/flywheel kit should I go with?

The clutchmaster stage3 has various problems with slippage over 3000 miles and the OEM clutch may not be able to hold the torque that I am making. I don't run the car hard, in fact I'm done with the spirited driving and all else with it. I just want a car that will last me for the next few years, but seeing as how I spent so much money modding it... I may as well leave all mods on the car.

So it comes down to...

OEM OR CLUTCHMASTER STAGE 3
oh yeah price is
$800 +/- vs $1140

Are u saying ur clutch was like new and its done after 1500 miles? i learned on this car in 02 too but am still on the original clutch at 87k. If thats the case id say go oem and it should be more like 300 i thought not 800. They revised the clutchmaster so it should last past 3k miles . 2 ppl on here have the new one but both still under 1k miles on it.

I am using a brand new luk clutch / flywheel and it broke after 1500 miles.. If I get an acura clutch, I may as well buy the flywheel as well...

rajca: I was planning on getting the cm stage3 seeing as how it's only $240 more... makes more sense too really.. expecially if they revised it as brian6speed said.

i think 8 psi its to much for oem clutch but if u know how to drive it, it will last. if go oem buy clutch and flywheel. but aftermarket is a must with this power

the oem was fine at first, i'm just scared that the stage3 clutchmasters will die after 3000 miles and $1200 down the drain.

If you break it in properly it will last longer than 1500 miles.

Sounds like improper break in to me.

more than likely, which is why I purchased a luk clutch/flywheel to learn with the car instead of going straight to a clutchmasters or oem acura, but after doing some research... I'm torn between the two.

why not go oem clutch, and put the stock boost pulley back on....if you're not worried about power that much. Then you still have a fun car, and no clutch worries.

I feel like I've spent too much money to go back to 5psi ($660 for RC440, $200 for Emanage, $200 for Boomslang harness, $100 for pulley, $200 for AFR gauge, $100 for boost gauge and switched to IK24 plugs) I wouldn't have purchased all of these extras if it weren't for the 8psi... so since I've already bought it. Might as well use it.

Well, my shit clutch/flywheel is starting to slip less almost none at all actually (I don't know why... it just happened) So i'll have some time to wait and see if the two guys running the revised CM stage3 are happy with their setup or not.

Its possible the clutch was glazed. Drive it normally and take it easy, see what happens with it.

If you're running 8 psi you're going to need an upgraded clutch. I'd recommend the Clutchmaster's Stage 3 or 4 setup for your application.

This is a hard one. My gut says for you to go OEM. But, the boost in power tells me you need to go aftermarket. However, aftermarket clutches have been known to fail prematurely and cause headaches...Since you've "learned" to drive stick, I say go with the OEM setup, and drive accordingly.
