All 03's already have it? or '03 1/2 - '04? I got mine in Jan so with my luck it applies to cars produced in '03. And just as a side note if I do have the update, then either pre-03 is terrible or you all aren't missing much...

I'll buy to borrow it from you and make image copies, and sell them for the 2 bucks of the cost of the disc and 2 bucks to ship, so for 4-5 bucks if I can get it, I'll sell for guys

I suggest STRONGLY that you guys shut up about making copies and espescially about selling them.

Page 1 of the Navi manual: User Agreement:

"The disc may not be copied, duplicated, or otherwise modified, in whole or in part, without the express written permission of the Licensors" (Honda).

I do not give a rats ass if you do this or not, but for Gods sake, don't announce that you are willing to break the law. The SPA (Software Protection Association) gets calls every day from fired and disgrunteled employees that were let go from their jobs, and to save a buck or two, those companies were pirating software, and the employees knew it (those that were let go).

To award the companies that did that, the SPA comes in, and if illegal copies are found, they hand out $100,000 violations like they are candy.

And some of you guys are BROADCASTING for all the world to see that you INTEND to COPY AND SELL software. On a board that (I think) is sponsored by Honda? Very brave, or very stoopid!

You ARE allowed to make multiple back up copies for yourself, incase the original ever goes corrupt, gets scratched, etc.

As much as you would feel violated if your personal car was stolen (and I know that feeling, because I had one stolen), the legal OWNERS of this software will feel the same way of you robbing you of their profit making machine.

Yes, it is expensive, and I don't like it either. Whoever posted about making and selling copies, If I were you, I would be hitting "edit and then delete" mighty quickly. Then, I will delete this post too.

I think the point is that IF someone were to bootleg these DVDs and IF they sold them and IF Honda got word of it, these posts might actually lead the FBI to your door. In addition, this board (read: soopa) might be held partially criminally liable for "encouraging" this type of activity.

Bootlegging/piracy is still illegal, no matter what your friends might say. It's just plain stupid to go onto a publicly available message board and post about pirating software.

 

Making a personal backup DVD copy is not ilegal though.

Frankly, I will never buy a "backup" copy" or even solicit such aquisition. I may either ask the dealer for a copy to try it. Or, ask someone who already bought the new DVD to let me try it.

2.11 did come out about a month ago. However it is now no longer on sale because Acura had to fix a bug in the program. Not sure when it will be put back on sale.

 

The sales site is now saying late February (about three weeks ago it said late January). Is there anyway to know if they have some of the new roads in my area. There isn't a web site that will list all the changes is there?

 

AZMerf whats the matter do not like having the NAV show you driving through fields when on the 101?

lol.. I personally can not wait for this to release either.. for us in the Pheonix area the DVD is WAY WAY off now.. this sucks...too much waiting... right now I'll even take the buggy version.

Yeah, it sort of sucks. I've been living with it so long I am used to it now. I live above Shea Blvd on the 51 and that's been completed way before I bought the car in May 2001. So I am used to only engaging the Nav when I am south of Shea.

They have done such a poor job of managing this thing, I am going to make sure the maps are sufficiently updated before I blow another $200 on this car.
