Nav System Errors
Does anybody have this problem? My nav system constantly shows the icon for the car behind where I actually am. It also displays me on the wrong road at times, but corrects after a while. I live in a dense metro area.
The dealer advised I can pull the fuse, install again then drive the car in a left circle which will reset the nav/gyro. Can this be right?

Sounds like you dealer is fucking with you but who knows. I know there is a debug screen you can do things like ajust settings on for the GPS. I can't remember the code you have to put in though. Its something like hold down three of the buttons on the right and start the car. Someone posted it a while back.

Here you go, I recommend do not mess with this stuff or you screw up your NAVI, just look at the Error page, and do not clear them!:

The dealer isn't pullin your leg. You do have to drive to the left and though you don't have to pull the fuse you need to recalibrate the system. Just go into the Nav and look for the Re-calibrate screen and follow the instructions. It's easy.

Here's the way to adjust it- stop at an intersection you can locate on the navi map. Note where it shows you are in relation to the actual position. Press setup on the screen, then press location correction. The screen will change, showing an enlarged version of you on a map. There will be 2 curved arrows. these will rotate the icon to match your direction. You can adjust your position by using the joystick- up/down/left or right. Adjust till correct, set your direction then press return. That should do it. Drive a little and see how it works.

i've only had my car 3 weeks but i noticed the same problem right away. the car icon on the navi screen is often up to 1/20 mile behind my actual location. turns are peculiar since it often shows me turning way off the road. eventually the car icon "snaps" back to the road.
i've noticed the navi in my wife's mdx acts the same way.
i've thought about using the location correction feature, but when my wife's car was delivered, the "walk-through" person told her never to change the correction, but i notice the manual has no such dire warning.
perhaps everyone's navi acts the same way?
