okay i just picked up a 01 CL-P. i noticed A LOT of 2nd gen CL members have the CL-S compared to the CL-P. okay so my question is, i want to buy 03 CL-S tail lights (red/clear) but there are 2 to choose from. one has a "wiring kit" and one doesn't. how do i know if i need a wiring kit or not??? is a wiring kit for people who want to replace their cl-s tails, who got their tails ganked and the theif yanked the wires and bulbs as well?? if so, then ill just need the tails itself and not the wiring kit, right?

i would also like to purchase the 03 CL-s black headlight housings. will that fit with ease? how much for the 03 tails and headlights and where can i purchase them from? i know about the acp.com....i do own a TL i dont see any of these in the for sale area of this forum too much.

damn, "rewiring" sounds complicated. im still confused though. i mean...how do you buy "sockets"?? sockets are actually plugs, arent they? dont 01 bulbs have sockets? i have to buy new sockets or something? changing out bulbs isn't a must right? its just to make it legal? so if i want to risk getting a ticket, ill just have to purchase these "socket" thingies with the 03 tails?

 

Believe me its very easy, I just did mine. Order the sockets because the turn signal hole is a little bigger on the 03 tails and the new socket makes it fit. You will need Amber turn signal bulbs also for an 03 because the 01 are clear bulbs. Amber keeps it legal. Nothing to wire basically just unplug the old socket and plug in the new one.

 

Agreed, you're definitely better off ordering them with the sockets....

 

great, then sockets it is! just to make sure, the tails cost around 3 bills?

as for headlights, is there anything i need to know? new sockets? or will it fit right in?
