come on..we've talked about this extensivly...see in the pic the unpolished rectangle right ontop of the engine...it replaces that...i thought the channels on the underside of the plate were intake runners...and kept refering to a plate to enlarge the runners...increasing air intake ,increasing resonance, increasing the hemholtz effect...well thet're not intake runners, thats not the right term but he did do what i was trying to explain, and thats enlarge the pate to take in more air....my question is...isnt the typeS the only one with this????

This is great. Truly a classic.

First they tease us for months about their mystery mod, and how its gains are across the board, and it only costs $300. Everyone's dying to know and they promise us that come time for SEMA everyone's appetites will be satisfied.

Okay SEMA's on and what do we get, one pic of it, not even installed on the engine, and no real explanation of how it works etc.

Yeah that's great, its still half a mystery.

We're gonna look like complete f*cking tools talkin to Maxima owners and IS300 owners.

"Hey man, what's up with your TL, wanna run?"

"Yeah man, I can take your IS300, I've got intake, exhaust, headers, and something else too"

"what's that something else?"

"I'm not sure"

"well what does it do"

"I dunno"

"WTF kind of Car enthusiast are you? Ya don't even know wtf is in your car! How much did you pay for it?"

"$300"

"You paid $300 for something you don't even know what is?"

"uhm, well yeah, but it gains 12 hp across the powerband!"

"Yeah right, you don't even know what you're talking about, riceboy"

"no man! I'm serious, I've got dyno sheets!!"

"STFU, you don't even know what it is, how the hell are you gonna dyno it?"

"listen to me! please! lets run em I swear!"

"go away ignorant riceboy TL owner"

They've built this thing up like an atomic bomb, and they gave us a firecracker. Nice promise guys. Classy.

Children,

I'm sure with as much hype this has had, the follow thru will match. Snook has allready stated distributorship, so I'll stand behind this one. Who's had a problem with Tim? No one I know And read the intellegent posts by Syncivic, TypeR, RAdams, and numerous other CL brethren that have given us as much as they could before the debut.

I'm terribly sorry, mackdaddy...

that was just a hypothetical response to the absurd scenario posed by f=ma. I don't have any actual knowledge of cock-holstering going on over in the is300 camp. and it really wouldn't be any of my business even if I did. they can cock-holster each other to their hearts' content without interference from me because this is america (and parts of canada) and we do what we want no matter what (well, the canadians not so much).

I hope I've clarified my stance on this matter...

This is not related to cars, therefore I cannot answer. Sorry.

It really does look like a flight data recorder... We do some work for the company that makes those...

Does anyone know if there is plans to color them up...like the powder coating or anodized (sp). I would really like it in red.

Red would be hot or blue, to match the intake.

I think the most important thing right now is for them to come up with a really good name, like resonance chamber modifierd or something dont know.... So we dont go around, I have an intake headers and mysterymod in my car

i say leave it mystery mod,,,to most even with an explaination, it's still a mystery, and even if you tell someone what it is, what it does they'll give you the same look as when you tell them the headers give 30HP

Here is the schematic of the item to be replaced. Obviously what they have done is get a raised design instead of a flat piece. The item circled in red it the piece in question:

That would be sweet if we could pay a little more and have the option of getting them in the anodize colors to match the AEM red and blue intakes.

I'm curious to see what the Accord V6 MM is going to look like since we don't have that same "plate" you guys have. They are going to have to completly replace our intake manifold is my guess.

The only thing I can think of is if they are replacing that U shaped piece on the far left hand side of the intake manifold to create the resonance effect.

Yep, those original descriptions were a bit confusing, jk... Yea, I've had this off several times and have seen the bottom of the cover. This should be an easy swap and am very glad to now see and understand the mod.

Nashua, the old gasket could be reused. This is just sealing air at near ambient pressure. So it should be just fine.
