My Tranny is Fixed after 18 days!!
Well I'm getting my car back finally after 2 weeks of driving a Saturn L-Series. Iasked the service rep if the transmission is new or re-manufatured. He stated re-manufactured.My question to you guys is: Shouldn't we be getting a new transmission ? I think it's screwed up !!!:o
I definitely think it's suppose to be new! I'm still waiting for mine and it will be a month tomorrow! My dealer said its either coming off the assembly line or one will be built for me! Either way I think 2 weeks is definitely not the average waiting time!!
i think it might be remanufactured.as the causes of the old trany failure might be some parts only.i do not believe acura is going to throw that old tranny away and install the new one.there should be some parts that from old tranny are still usable:o

They would definitly try and use any working parts...
Also, there are new TLS/CLS owners having tranny problems (yes/no/maybe)?
Well I guess it varies from dealer to dealer then. My dealer doesn't analyze the problems unfortunately. They ran the diagnostic and it failed. Based on that he placed an order for a new tranny. To be honest I rather have a brand new one. Car is brand new. I don't want a rebuilt one! It's Acura's fault they built it wrong so let them build me a new one if need be!! Just my opinion though!!
i just got my cl back a couple of days ago, the tranny went on it. I was without it for about 2 weeks, the longest 2 weeks i had to experience in a long time, also, now that i got it back, when i go to turn the care off, the key sometimes doesn't come completely out, it get's stuck in acc., only way to get it out, is turn the car back on and put it in drive, back to park and hopefully it comes out...any idea what that might be..??
Had a 3.0 Accord Coupe that did the same thing. Seemed to be sentive to steering wheel position. If wheels were straight key came out; if they were turned the key was stuck and tranny wouldn't come out of park. Try getting your wheels straight before you shut it off!

Sure, I'd like new stuff 99% of the time over rebuilt (consider electronics, automotive, computers, etc)...
However, it might be possible (notice I said might) that the rebuild gets some slightly beefed-up bearings (or at least ones that are not weak/messed-up/whatever).... What if Acura had a bunch of "ready built" NEW transmissions that didn't have some little "fix"???
(I don't know for sure. Just something to consider...)
