my tranny failed a few months ago. possible solutions?
my transmission failed a while ago i think some of you may remember me. anyways i havent gotten anything new and my cls is just sitting out front. it has 155k miles on the engine and i heard from some people that it is possible to put an 07 tl tranny in it. this would be about 3,500 to do. do you think that this tranny replacement would be worth the money when the engine has so many miles on it? i dont want to only get 4000 more miles out of it before it dies again ya know?
thanks for any input

IMO I'd get a Honda Odyssey transmission put in, over the TL trans. Chances are the TL transmission could be pretty exhausted too..

If you have a dependable transmission the motor will problem last another 155 as long as you properly maintain it.
tune ups, timming belts, water pump, maybe some seals ,gaskets, hoses. throw in a radiator flush here and there

My car has 192K on it and I didn't even blink about getting the tranny fixed. Honda engines are known to last a really long time if they are properly maintained so I wouldn't worry about it.
Good luck and don't forget to post the final outcome.

So wait, the 07 TL is just a straight swap, but with the Odyssey trans you have to do modifications?
