My Tranny Died today- Question
My Tranny Died today- Question
My tranny has gone bad at 15,748k. I had Acura pick up the car, but the dealer can't guarantee a loaner car. Will they re-imburse me for a rental unitl they can get me a loaner ? In any past experience with this would help......
Can he call Acura Customer Service?
..the 1-800 number...sorry I don't know what it is.
They should give you a brand new f*cking MDX if they have to.
If all of their loaners are already spoken for, then they HAVE to at least rent you another car. They f*cking have to!
I hate cheapo bastard commie customer service reps who don't know how to do their god damn job!!
My trannie is just starting to die now, and if they don't hook me the f*ck up I'm gonna go postal!
...ok I'm done...good luck!

There's no question about it, your are entitled to a car. When my transmission died, they didn't have any loaners so they rented me a car from Alamo. Your car will be out of commission for at least 30 days, so make sure you get something decent. Call Acura customer service if they give you any grief about getting you a car.

True Barry...that's true. I only meant that the have to because that's what most Acura dealerships across the country do. It just brings down the name if they don't.
So, if this dealership is giving him a problem, then he should just start taking his car to a different dealership that will give him service that is on par with other Acura Dealerships across the nation.
It's as arbitrary as the rate/mile that they charge on a leases that run over the alotted # of miles built into the lease. Pohonka Acura in Virginia charges 10 cents/mile while Rosenthal Acura in Maryland (much better IMHO) only charges 7 cents/mile.

I know if my tranny goes the cloest dealer that gives loaners is Lehigh Velley Acura. I usually take mine farther away to Reading... My dad likes to pick it up and drop it off... he's retired and ultra bored... I figure I'll throw hima bone every now and than.

Actually they don't HAVE to. If and how a dealer chooses to participate in the loaner program is strictly up to each dealer and not mandated or controlled by Acura. If you go through all the documentation that came with the car, nowhere does it say anything about the loaner program. Some dealers are more liberal than other dealers with loaners and some only provide shuttle service. You need to check with the dealer you want to service your car to get their individual loaner policy.
