My SMR Has Gone Two-Tone!
After someone scraped up the side of my 03 San Marino Red CLS 6MT, I took it to the biggest shop in town for a repair. They repainted the passenger door and rear fender. It looked great when I picked it up.
In the two months since then, the repainted area has slowly darkened to the point where it is practically TWO-TONE. It is a brick red in contrast to the bright SMR red front fender.
QUESTION: should I take rubbing compound to it and see if that brightenes it up, or should I take it back in and demand a respray? Is a gradual darkening something to be expected from repainting?

Take it back...
I've got some door dings that I need to get done... paintless removal won't do it since the paint is scratched... I've gotten estimates (last year), just need to schedule it...
But, I haven't had it done since I'm dreading having someone match 3 1/2 year old SMR....

Here, I couldn't get that other image site to display the image (without paying for "upgraded service.") - here are the pics without having to click the links.
I appreciate your feedback. It's one of those things that has been very gradual and has kind of crept up on me until I realized it wasn't just the lighting or my imagination!

wow, never seen that happen before. Defintely take it back, and demand a repraint of the affected portion, or reimbursement. I don't agree with getting them to repaint the whole car if it doesn't match since (in my experience) aftermarket paintjobs never approach the quality of OEM factory paint, and usually exhibit orange peel and fading/wear/flkaing after time.
