My Sacrifice
So I finally installed the XS Power headers. took a good 8 hours or so. took a lunch break. in the middle of taking off the front header my apartment manager passed by and saw what i was doing and told me that working on cars is prohibited in this complex and that it was in the contract. i told him ok i'm almost done and he just walks off. two hours later he passes by again and says if i dont finish soon i'll have to tow it out. so i say ok im almost done just let me finish this and i won't do it again. about 15 minutes to go. got the headers on. just checking for leaks. he posts a letter on my door. i walk up and read it...a 30 day notice. nice. well at least i got the damn headers in! haha pulls great. no question about that.

Apartment complexes are a dime a dozen. You might even be able to talk to the property manager, explain your situation and they might forget all about it. Happened to me.

that's ridiculous. if he's going to be that much of an asshole then he really doesn't deserve your business anyway
congrats on the headers though and good luck finding a new place

that is fucked up...what a horrible person...like most said...you shouldnt stay at a place like that...but i'll be realistic...its not easy to get up and move...I would argue that you could not just stop working on your car because the headers are an essential part of your car in order for it to run...how are you going to move your car or whateva with all the guts hanging out...even if towed you would have problems...i think that is unlawful and doesnt constitue to give u an eviction notice...maybe a warning...an extra charge...but eviction...i would read that contract up and down and see if that is cause for eviction...happy you got them on...i guess i should start seeing where else to install my headers when i get them dont want to end up in the same shitty situation...i would def go to property management tho and plead your case....now if you have a bad repore with them then you know wassup but if not...i think this is something that should go that far...and try to talk to someone with some sense...

Renters have rights, and he cannot evict you without first giving you a written warning. If the complex has a record of numerous infractions on your part, that's a different story, but if this is the first problem they've had with you they have no grounds to evict you. I'd fight it, unless you're just looking for an excuse to get out.
People don't realize that to get evicted nowadays, you pretty much have to commit a felony against the property. Renters rights are hardcore.

I did not know that to be honest. But either way I think it'll be fine. I will try to talk to the actual owner rather than the manager, but if all else fails then it wont be the end of the world. Again thanks alot guys!

I say since he was such a cock-diesel, throw a party every night, rent some hookers and some farm animals, invite your friends over to use your make-shift parking lot DynoJet, do a couple parking lot engine swaps, and give him a REAL reason to evict you. Oh, and did I mention the hookers?
