My Review of the TypeS
WOW! This car is HOT in real life! Pictures don't do justice. The guy that lives two houses down from me has been the proud owner of an Aegean Blue Pearl TL-S for about a month now. Yesterday, he gave me the keys to his car and offered me a test drive. Before I give you my driving impression, let me say that from the outside, this car looks amazing! They have limo tint in the back, and two shades lighter up in the front. The tint complements the car so well!
So anyways...
I turned on the car, and as the engine just finished turning over, the exhaust made a nice deep sound. Took the car easy at first to notice it's luxury amenities. The car isn't as smooth as I thought it would be over bumps, but I drive an S2000, I don't car about smoothness. The interior was very quite at all speeds. I love how everything just wraps around the driver. The steering is great! Very smooth and responsive! Handling was very good considering the size of the car. I was going through curves at about 100+ MPH and the car didn't even break a sweat, mind you these were some big curves. Acceleration was great! The car sure as hell didn't feel fast (luxury car of course), but when I looked at the speedo, I was going close to triple digits. The transmission was another excellent feature. The Sport-Shift is actually funner than it seems, and the shifts were VERY smooth, I couldn't even feel them. And the car turns many heads. Some guy who owns a 328i with tinted windows and sport package was simply drooling over the car when he saw me enter the neighborhood as he was exiting. Brakes were also great! I used them so hard that when I got back, they were smoking heavily. But rotors were still 100% solid (no warping), and there was no fade either ( I drove the car around more to cool them down though).
Overall, I like this car A LOT! My only comlaint was the fact that it falls out of VTEC during the shifts. Hopefully the upcoming 6sp will cure that.
You guys are lucky to own such a great car! Treat it well!
P.S. I'd like to stick around on this board if you guys don't mind. Help defend you guys against those damn Maxipad (Maxima) owners!

I didn't have my car back then when the article was published (I got it used). So I wasn't really intrested in reading the whole article. I do remember the pictures, and DAMN was it ugly!

Welcome. Your S2000 stock is very impressive. August Car and Driver tested the heavily modded Mugen S2000 which is $24k more than stock and picked up only .4 from 0-60 because Honda did such a great job on the stock 2.0 engine.</STRONG>

Stock, you can get it to 60 in around 6-6.2 seconds UNLESS you do side step the clutch and then you can get it down slightly below 6. Maybe 5.8
If you screw up it will probably take you 7.5. But when it turns... wow.
