Exclamation My Main't Required Light Is Flashing!

Well my main't required light has been flashin for a week, and I fugured it was because I needed an oil change since I recently hit my 3,000 miles.

I get my oil change done and it still flashes when I turn my car on . For the first 10 seconds it will blink but then it will stop.

Since I am kind of new to this site and owning a CL-S can anybody direct me on what i should do? How can I reset it? Or is something else wrong?

Anybody who responds, your time is greatly appreciated!

Good Day!

Don

It is because you've reached a specific service interval that the car relies on mileage to determine. If you don't go to acura for service/oil change or whatever than you need to reset the light manually. It flashes for ten seconds to let you know that you are approaching 7500 miles between service. You can reset it yourself using the reset button on the dash, i'm not sure but i think you need to hold both buttons down for a short period of time. You can consult your owners manual for the exact procedure. If you have performed the required maintenance than there is no need to worry. Hope that helps

Manuals....the biggest waste of money for a car manufacturer.

It begins to flash at 6500miles since it was last reset, stays on after 7500 miles and can be reset by reading the manual, or searching. I have left mine on for 20k miles and it is just another light, not an issue to have it lit.

Thanks in advance

Put key in ignition and while holding down the select/reset buttons, turn the key on and hold it until the light goes off. Turn key off again and back on, should come on then immediately go out.

I'm pretty sure it means the car is going to blow up.

What kind of servicing is done every 7500 miles? Just a regular tune-up?

My next question for the GreenMonster is how many times have you posted that exact page?

I got a hard copy of the maintenance schedule from my dealer, but someone posted a pdf version of it here...

Clicky, clicky for the maintance schedule below...

http://john-perry.com/acurazine/docu...aintenance.pdf

Get a copy of the owners manual (and service manual) here:

http://helminc.com/helm/homepage.asp?r=

I should just post the maintence light, maintenance schedule and owner manual links in all new owner posts

If I had a nickel for every time I've posted it (they are in the FAQ forums too btw), I'd have a whole bunch of nickles

I was a CL newbie 3 years ago, but I still remember how it felt. I don't mind helping the new guys get up to speed. I was on vbulletin forums before acurazine, but for some people this might be their first time on an internet forum.
