My friends looking at a 240sx...
He's thinking about getting a '95 with 105k miles on it, and is wondering how long these cars last. Anyone here have one or know their reliability? Thanks in advance

I sold my 96 240 Sx 2 months ago with 178,000 miles on it. Went through 2 clutches, waterpump, fue lpump. IMHO the car was awsome. If they still made it I would have one insted of my 03 CL.

Having previously owned one, I'll tell you that they require a good bit of maintenance. Furthermore, unless you are going to turbo that car it's not worth it--they are sloooow. The 2.4L engine was a truck engine originally and it really shows because it runs out of breath waaaay short of the redline. In fact, when I was in college my girlfriend and I raced on the highway in a 5 to 3 downshift and she pulled on me---in a PLYMOUTH SUNDANCE!!!
I think the 0-60 was close to 10 seconds.
Great handling, though, and to me a c assic in its own right. No other manufacturer had the balls to make a lightweight RWD car back then (and still to this day).
I have often contemplated picking one up and tuboing it for a fun car one day. They are absolutely dirt cheap to buy.
