My first newbie mistake with my CLS
He guys, I just figured I would relay my stupidity last night.. The weather was nice last night so I decided to go for a night drive. Cruising around at night in cooler weather (I live in Texas so cool this time of year is 70F) with the moonroof open, is nice Anyway, after some spirited driving I did a gas gauge check and realized, I was running a little low. I pulled over at the local gas station around the corner from my house and proceeded to fill her up. I remembered I hadn't checked the fluids the last couple of fill-ups so I proceed to check under the hood and make sure all the caps under where tight. In the process of doing this I somehow loosened the radiator cap and hot fluid shot all over the engine bay I had just finished cleaning up the engine bay the day before!! Anyway, hopefully that's the ONLY stupid thing I do with my CLS this week

I always wondered who the guy was that all those warning stickers were designed for.
You know the ones that say stuff like:
HOT, DO NOT TOUCH, CAUTION, DO NOT OPEN WHEN HOT, WARNING & BURN HAZARD.
Now I know.

Better to have a shattered pride for one night rather than burn marks to remind you of your mistake for the rest of your life. Glad to hear nothing happened to you...now here's some advice...DON'T OPEN THE RADIATOR CAP WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT!!!

Oh...Behave!
GET REAL !!!
Your sig says you JUST picked the car up on 8/30 - today is 9/6 - that's ONLY ONE WEEK! ...my question is, "WHY ARE YOU EVEN CHECKING FLUIDS AFTER ONE WEEK???

They aren’t coming off unless you re-cover the entire visor with new material.

Am I the only one that thinks that you should NEVER EVER EVER haveto remove that radiator cap??? Shouldn't you be able to check the resevoir level by sight???
Oh well Now you're giving all of us Texans a bad name Good thing you got your driving w/ the sunroof open before it started raining...because you probably won't have another opportunity like that for the next week or so

J/K - Glad to hear you weren't hurt as that can be very dangerous.
