I was on Westheimer here in Houston when I pulled up behind a new Altima.....He was slowly rolling backwards then brakes about 2 feet infront of my car...I'm like WTF??:sqnteek: So anyways the light turns green and I quickly change lane to get around this looney....Since I have an exhaust, I dont have to push the gas that hard and the next guy will hear the sound of my exhaust....I guess he thought I was trying to race him and he downshifted and floored his car...I didnt even give chase cause there was no one infront of us at the next light...I pull up next to him with no intentions on racing but this guy kept on reving his motor....So what could I do except turn off my VSA and get ready...Well, to make a story short I did beat this guy up to 80 mph...I didnt even get pass 3rd gear...But I do have modds and most likely this guy was stock but I thought I heard a CAI under his hood but could not be sure cause my car is freakin loud when I floor it...My point is, I didnt even beat this car by more than 1 1/2 car lengths....But Im modded and he was probably stock He also probably have not mastered the gears on that car either....Lucky that 6 spd is coming out to keep up with these new gen. cars..

 

Nice kill! Gotta show those new 3.5 5sp Altima's what a modded CL-S can do.

 

I saw a brand new v6 5 spd. altima at the track on wed. It was bone stock and still had dealer plates on it. The altima ran a 14.6 in the 1/4 mile. Thats pretty fast for a stock car. With some mods it can easily get into the 13's.

 

stock vs. stock...the new altima has the CL-S beat...but then again, we need to compare the new 6sp CL-S to this 4 door sleeper

 

A member of Altima.net ran a 13.92 with just an intake.

 

That was a 5spd i guess. We should wait to do comparisons with the 6spd cls vs. the altima 5spd vs. 6spd max. That would be a fair comparo! Right now it should be only auto vs auto not fake stick vs. 5spd. Some members here ran low 14's with just intake too, so with some good mods to a 6spd cls, i can only imagine the runs we will have!

 

hey guy's as for the altima running a 14.6 not bad but it is way lighter than the cl. also i have a bone stock cl type s and i ran 14.7 at 94 and i am alot heavier than the little tiny altima with that big motor!!!! as for the guy claiming to have gone 13.9 in his stock altima noway in hell did he do that with out some help like slicks .. when i do my mods will gladly take on some altima dont get me wrong it's a nice car and has a 5speed but so do us cl lovers and we shall show the nissan lovers a thing or two. as for there automatic bring it on any time!!!

Hey CLimax no direspect but big deal you ran 4tenths faster than me with mods and are you a stick? and besides the post was for altimas not maximas!!! and here is one in your face there is a guy spiro in this forum who is running axle back exhaust and headers and he is going 100mph at 14.0 which you know the car is faster than that. so take the maxima and park it in the garage it looks nice in there. acura has been spanking the maxima for a long time and now the are becoming a contender it only took them 10years

 

Actually I know the Maxima guy. He is a 2K2 automatic. I am a stock (for now) Max 6spd (time in sig) and will take you anytime, anyplace. May I bring my car out of the garage for that?

Ok type s killer a 97maxima ran 15.2 stock not 14.0 i am talking bone stock car here not a maxima with a super charger which is the only way a 97maxima would go 14.0 or a nos shot. it is a nice car don't gwt me wrong but let's tell the truth here.

The Altima is bigger than the CL-S. Lurk around the web and stop so clueless. The Altima did in fact run a 13.9@101mph with just a homemade intake. Know your role clueless. Want proof? Go to www.altimas.net The guy also ran 14.4@100mph the next time at the track with a poor 2.3 60ft because it had rained earlier that day. I hope you understand track times clueless.

1. Climax has an Automatic Maxima with a full cat-back runnin 14.3
Learn to read. Newbies like you give other newbies like ME a bad rep.

2. Altimas and Maxima's are mechanical twins and have identical straight line performance with an edge going to the Maxima automatic if it was compared with an Altima V6 automatic.

3. I have no clue what an axle back exhaust is. Thats great that he ran 14.0, but he SHOULD be faster than that, especially with headers that add around 30hp, which the maxima doesn't have.

4. Stop being such a ricer. Your speaking of another car that ran 14.0 and trying to prove a point, which you failed. Like I said, you being a punk ass makes ME look stupid.

5. Acura never had a contender to the Maxima. The Legend Type II 6speed, TL-S/CL-S (Cars that can run with, lose, or beat a Maxima) are in totally different classes.

hey yall.... easy guys..... who cares if CLs are faster than MAX/ALT or the other way around..... we are adults(i guess, at least 18+ are adults) here, dont talk like some elementry kids like "oh i am better, bla bla bla" IT'S OK IF ONE IS FASTER THAN OTHER!!!!!

The fact is, there gotto be someone faster than you, so why bother.... The whole point of these forums are to enjoy our cars, try to solve problems, etc..... not message war claiming who can beat who...... just take it easy guys.....

Most 5spd Altimas are running 14.4-14.8 stock. Most. Autos high 14s to low 15s. But most are in the 14s. The guy only hit 13.9 one time, if it was consistant it would be worthy to mention, the altima is a 13.9 sec car. But its not. One rare time isn't enough in my book, but 14.4-14.6 is worthy.

Put a auto Altima up against a TYPE-S, the Altima will go down guranteed. My 5spd 2001 Maxima took a 2002 3.5L auto off the line all the way up, pulled 1 car. And this car is quicker than it.

 

No, the TYPE-S weighs 250lb heavier than the Altima or more. The car dynos 200-205 to the wheels stock for a auto CL-S, the auto maximas or altimas dont dyno that, the 6spd Maxima dynos that. Hmmmmmmmm.... CL-S has skinnier tires as well.

Right, Maxima / Nissan is lower in class than Acura. Acura goes up with Infiniti, Lexus, BMW, etc. Nissan is toyota, Honda, and VW.

fastest STOCK MAX ever is 14.2 (2002).....fastest STOCK 4th gen max (95-99) is 14.7...NOT 15.2...

BTW....my buddy with a 96 5-speed max (Nealoc187) with JUST a y-pipe ran a 14.4 right in front of my eyes..and my video camera...

there is an N/A 4th gen max that runs 14.0@98......no S/Cer....no NOS....

hey vtecrulesme if your finshed dogging people then go to the track and watch some of these altimas i did and i ran one with a stick and i had him beat buy a qurater panel he had one mile an hour on me both of us had the same sixty just about and the same 1/8th mile speed. get out of the forum and go to the track we can all right anythng but seeing is fact.

2001prelude not everyone can drive there car i have never ran slower than a 15.0 and that was in 100 deg weather. so don't knock the car maybe he got a bad one.

 

Funny but I get a giggle when I think of Altima's at a track (more than me giggling at myself with a 3800 lbs car at the track).

Everything being relative to me, if a 4-door car is as fast or faster than a 2-door car, why buy the 2-door?

Understand too, that yes there is 1 Altima that ran 1 13.9. But the majority never will.

 

Like I said earlier, I have alot of respect for the CL-S, but I'm just trying to show supporting evidence for the hardly believed Maximas times.

Get over it, They ran it, got those times, have a nice day. I'm not doubting this race because alot of driver error could have occured. Heck I've beaten Altima 3.5 5speeds and I've told my friends about it, but I know that a well driven one can can whoop me.
