my "D5" blinks
so when i'm at a stop and i have my turn signal on, the "D5" dims as the turn signal indicator illuminates. can't say i've noticed this happen before except for just before my tranny last went out. i notice it also happens when i'm at a stop and then i accelerate quickly.
no electrical mods whatsoever, no chargers or anything else of the sort either. only electrical "add-on" was the rear wing and the dealer installed that when i purchased it and that was some time ago.
is this common?

mine kinda does it too, its not noticeable but sometimes i look down at it and wonder if its the light from outside or if the light really dims and comes back. if it does it excessively and even a passengar could identify it, then get it checked

An actual blink (full on full off) is in fact the warning sign given by the Tranny Warranty notice.

The D5 dimming syndrome is very common with Hondas/Acuras when the blinkers are on. My 01 CL-S did it (no trans problems), so did my uncle's 00 TL. My 90 Accord EX did that (in D4)... also no trans problems). My sister and cousin both have a 93 Accord EXs that does the same thing in D4. And my mom drives a 95 Odyssey EX that dims the D4 light as well. None of the above had any trans problems whatsoever.
Only when D5 (or D4) blinks on and off (no dimming) like your blinkers does it mean that a possible trans problem has occurred.
