My cracked SR headers

for those that wanted to see where i was talking about. ...this happened before i even had them on my car, they were just sitting on my floor.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...1/f988e29f.jpg

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...3/f988e942.jpg

my brother already took it to a shop to have it welded while i was at work, but they said it could not be done "cus its too thin and cheap of a metal", its SS isnt it? , damn rednecks...but hes taking it to another place tomorrow, if not then my uncle has a friend who tig welds and could hopefully do it.

definately werent cut, although...maybe PIMPD@DDY couldnt stand the thought of me having his headers on my 3.0, flew to VA and broke in my house, somehow managed to get by my dog (60lb pit), who unfortunately will pretty much attack anything that moves (not trained that way but was a rescued dog), found where i had them and sawzaw'd the mofos

Are you sure that's a "crack"? Looks more like a joint where two pipes meet... That's as straight as it can be. It really does look more like a cut.

Your funny. That upsets me too that a manufacturer would put out something like that. (CRAP) I will post or send you the original picture when I get home. I took a look at the original picture and there is a line in that pipe. Looks like they made that pipe with 2 pipes welded together??? Why in the hell would they do that??? Makes sense now about the crack, but still that should not have happened. That is definately a MANUFACTURE DEFECT!!! I would send them back and make them send you a new prototype 3 set.

add ".orig.jpg" to the end of the link. It should work.

Looks like a perfect cut rather than a crack...but nevertheless, sucks

i just got back from having it welded. im taking my car back up there in 2 weeks to have them install the headers because instead of just having the downpipe bent and me installing it, theyre going to do a few things that my brothers and i cant do in our driveway...then ill install my pullies and vafc and have them dyno tune it. anybody in the md/dc/va that needs a shop for anything performance wise, look them up, Ultimate performance. they can do anything, from cages to swaps and seem to be some cool guys, unlike those other shops in this area no names need be mentioned...also i dont know if its supposed to be a secret or not :P but theyre building a 9 sec allmotor honda insight, that thing is crazy looking.

Which header was that? Front? Rear? How does the weld look? Post a picture. Sorry about the problems you have been having, hope things go more smoothly for ya.

Here is a picture of the header when it was not cracked. This picture has been cropped and enlarged just to show the header in question. See the line in the left pipe. The others are not like that. BAD MANUFACTURING.

Isn't the honda insight a gas/electric hybrid?

Did they just toss out all the electric motors and stuff???

Easy fix. Find a welder, slap a layer on.
