I was on my way on I15 to vegas from Cali it was about 11 pm at night and a newer E430 came flying buy me. So the frist thing that comes in mind is lets have some fun. :yum: and i had about 200 more miles to go. so i got up to him and we were goint about 90 and he punch it so i drop it in to 3rd and away we me went. when i got out for 3rd and into 4th we where going about 115 and still going. i pulled on him a little bit. my front wheel was where his front light was. i was pulling on him. i looked down and seen i was going 130 and i had a car on him. but he didn't want to stop and i was not going to intell i could see him way back there. we where going about 140 and i seen he was about 2 to 3 cars behind. and it didn't look like he was going to catch me. so i let up and got in front of him. then the rest of the way to Vegas he was behind me. and didn't pass me once. but i don't think he wanted to i was going about 125 the hole time.





about a month ago i was on the 71 in chino hills. i just got gas and i was at a light. and a 330ic bmw pulled up right next to me and he step on it. went to the next light and he look at me and rev his little 3.3 six. so i rev back saying lets go. we where gettting on the freeway. so the light turn green and off we went. by the time i was on the freeway i was about 5 cars in front of him. . he got off at the next off ramp because of traffic and i was in the slow lane. i seen him get back on the freeway and got over so he can see i was in front of him. right when he seen me he got over right away. about 10 cars behind and never seen him agand

I sure hope you have a 6MT because the auto isn't going into 3rd gear @ 90mph, that's 4th gear territory and we all know 4th gear is a dog. I also hope you are supercharged or spraying laughing gas to pull 5 cars on a 330ci (I would pull about that many cars on them in a short race, obviously pulling more the longer we ran, and that's with a supercharger/headers/HBP/intercooler). I need more details or I'm going to have to find the B.S. flag.

 

And FWIW, the BMW 330 is a 3.0L I6 not a 3.3L.

 

Thank you for taking the words out of my mouth. There is no way in hell a auto is going into thrid at 90mph. I would like to know what you have done to your CLS.

 

for you all that don't know if you step off the gas going 90 and you down shift you can get into 3rd

my auto will go into third at 90 as well. but that must have been a pathetic 330.

you guys must have gotten the shit bunch from the cls cuz mine goes into 3rd at 90mph and is right into VTEC and yes it is auto.

It's kind of weird for it to shift into 3rd at 90 just for 2 seconds just to switch back to 4th again at 100. Hope you had fun, nice kills but watch your tranny. Weak pieces of shit...

 

You cant race anyone in forth gear going 90, you have to downshift to third or you will get smoked. You land right b4 6k rpm.

 

Well mine doesn't shift into 3rd at 90mph, maybe it's because I'm on my 4th tranny (I think, I lost count). Was that something they changed on the replacement ECU? I think the explaination as to why the e430 was 3 or so cars behind at 140mph might be because its limited to 130mph.

Yes, and your car shifts out of 1st into 2nd at about 40mph @ WOT. But will it let you shift down at 40mph, no.. Why, because it's redline for that gear. Only 30mph and below will it shift back into 1st. I tried mine again today on the expressway on the way home from work. It would not go into 3rd again at 90mph whether I let off the gas or not. It will however go into 2nd at 65mph if I let off the gas, otherwise it won't shift back into 2nd unless I'm at 60mph or under.

 

LA to LV is a fun drive, i've done i15 around fifteen times now, each time the average speed was 90-100 mph, and every time i've come across at least two cars that are wanting to play. Last time for more then half the way this chick in a newer celica, she was weaving like a mad person... and others have been benz's 300c charger etc...

I just tried to shit down from 4th to 3rd and i was doing around 92-93 and it shifted.... I was holding it at a steady speed, and did not ease off when i shifted...

What are you guys talking about? The CL pulls hard when you downshift to third going 90 mph. It might not do it on SS mode but it certainly does it when u gateshgift...
