My CLS is HIGH!

We just got back from a trip into the Colorado mountains. This pic was snapped at about 10,000 feet above sea level.

All in all, we drove 2100 miles round trip from Austin. The car was absolutely great.

Anybody else ever take any long road trips in your CL?

Zapata,

Rims are RH C2 Evos... some say Racing Hart, some don't.

I don't give a hoot anyway!

Here's another pic.

My wife thought I was a freak for taking pictures of my car.

900 miles next week. Outer Banks of NC, Eastern Shore of MD. Not even close to 2100 miles.

Didn't you bend a rim? find a replacement? I love the C2s, but the $$$$.

Yeah, the mileage was crazy... I changed my oil just before we left and its almost time to change it again!

Bl^5... of course we watched some flix. Maybe 4 or so in the car on the way there during that wonderfully attractive northwest Texas! I think I have you to thank for convincing me to do the conversion. So THANK YOU!

For anyone who hasn't done the Video on Navi conversion... FIND A WAY!

Even the valets at the superstuffy Broadmoor in Colorado Springs gave me compliments.

mcdanjw - Did you notice a significant loss of power at altitude? I live in CO nad have yet to get the car below about 5,000 ft - just wondering if you noticed a large difference coming from TX.

I noticed a significant difference. It wasn't so much on the way there... we took 4 days to drive up there so it was more gradual. But we drove all the way back in one trip, and the next morning when I jumped in my car I could really feel the difference. It was more significant that the difference than my CAI made, in my opinion.

maevonee, you need to get some type of NTSC to RGB converter... I have the famed Pioneer RGB1. It requires some slight modification. If you do a search on RGB1 I suspect you'll find details in full.

In two weeks I am driving from OR to FL.. it'll be about 3200 miles + a few hundres for sightseeing detours.

Where in Colorado did you drive? I'm heading down 25 from Wyoming to Col Springs. Will hit Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, and Cave of the Winds in that area. Did you make it to any of those?

I've done Denver/portland/Vancouver BC/Denver, and Denver/Atlanta/Richmond/Denver and a few other like that. Nice riding car (realy easy to do 6-7 hours without stopping. YMMV

I have a home in Green Mountain Falls Colorado about 15 miles North of Colorado Springs. My grandmother bought the house (cabin) in 1942. It is our place to avoid the deathly humid summers in Southern Louisiana ! So every summer we went there from May till September. I know all those places mentioned ! Did you happen to go to Woodland Park ? If so, you passed Green Mountain Falls. Alt. 8000 elevation ! Don't miss the train to Pikes Peak ! Only do the 7:15 a.m. train ! Simply awesome !

We did the Garden of the Gods... apparently because of the drought, the Seven Falls is more like the seven leaky faucets.

We also took the train to the top of Pikes Peak. That was simply awesome.

Also, if you have time, drive out to Cripple Creek... its an awesome drive (that's the road where the pics were taken) and right before you go into town, there is an old gold mine you can take a tour of. They take you down 1000 feet in a tiny elevator thing. That was freaky and cool as hell.

I thought about Cripple Creek. How much time I have to detour will depend on how long I spend in the Yellowstone -> Rushmore area. Looks as though I may have to get up early in Ft. Collins to make the 0715 train to Pike's Peak.

Those are nice pics. I'm in the Colorado mountains (next door to Kansas) all the time 'cept I try to rent an SUV to keep those miles off my CL.

road trip

I've only had mine for just over two months and i've already broken 11K on the odometer. Bought it in GA and drove to CO, then NM, back to GA... Then lots of little trips. I love the car though, the six speed makes highway driving alot more fun and makes the trips so much faster. I did notice a huge power drop when i got it up to altitude in Colorado Springs (easily 20-30 hp difference from sea level).
