i paid for it with a check in full
according to acura, the only way was to jack it up on dollies and to push it out of the garage...fucking piece of shit berkeley...how do you not notice guys pushing a car on dollies at 10 fucking pm
did your car attract attention b/c it had audio/those trafficstar wheels on it still?
I forget your mod list, but that could've been more of what they were after rather than the car itself.
sucks mang, i hope they find it. gl to you.

This could of been an inside job. Is your car parked at this garage regularly? Its common for thieves to take a picture of the vin # with their camera phone, go to a buddy they know at an Acura dealership, give them all the info, copy keys, find your car and drive off. Also, since your car has some cosmetic features your easy to spot. To this day i still use the CLUB.

2. The CLUB is the biggest waste of money. All they need to do is cut the sterring wheel to slide it off and they're good to go.
Sorry to hear about your car. Sucks big time. Hopefully insurance takes care of you.
[QUOTE=mclarenf3387]1. You can't just go to a dealer with your VIN and get a duplicate key that starts the car. The car has an immobilizer that needs to recognize each key and there is no way to program the system remotely or with the car in front of you to recognize a new key.

The dealership I used to work for had every key code on file for every NEW car ever sold there. All you needed was the VIN# and bingo, you're in! Of course, not just every average schmoe could go in there and get one ordered/made. You had to prove you owned the car.

. no shit sherlock!! So, I shouldn't have to go into detail. 2.The only way to get a copy, spare, duplicate,(what ever you wanna call it) key to start the car is to go to the dealer. And if you know someone that works at the dealer there's probably ways to get around all the other crap like showing proof of ownership. Most likely the person behind the desk is the mastermind and they are sending people out to get the cars. Its possible.
3. THE CLUB is not 100% effective but takes less than 5 seconds to put on and take off. How long does it take to cut a steering wheel before your good to go? Use your
to figure that one.https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/my-car-jacked-330452/
evan if you get a key cut buy someone inside you still need the car there to program the key a cut key will olny open the door and unlock the steering wheel i work for acura /honda in parts i cut them all day. the other way cars are getting stolen is if you have a computer from the same type of car and a prgramed key you get a key cut and get into the car change the computer and it will start witn the programed key close by and the new cut key and you can drive away no mess
There are only 4 codes in the actually immobilzer chip that honda/acura uses, there are tools out there that can generate and replicate those 4 codes, so all you really have to do is jam a screw driver in the igniton, hold a transponder that will produce those codes close to the ignition and crank and off we go.
Other ways that people have stolen cars with factory immobilzers were ECU swaps. Plug in a new ecu that does not require Immobilizer chip and start and off you go, of course these are modified ECU's. Or aftermarket ECU's such as AEM or others. There are many EASY ways to steal vehicles with factory immobilzers which are supposely the best.
Unfortunately they do get stolen all the time. Towed or through the process above.^
Things you can do to help prevent car theft:
Aftermarket additional 3 point immobilzation including starter, ignition and fuel.
Aftermarket alarm system with backup power supply or backup siren.
2 Way Paging alarms, gps tracking.
Hood locks
Relocation of Hood Release Cable
Pull our your ECU everytime you get out of your car
Jackup your car from underneath but make it look like your tires are touching the ground, so if they do hotwire it and try to drive away they don't go anywhere and look like an ass.
Wire up a wireless Pinhole Camera inside hidden and have it taping on a monitor(thats what I do)
Use something to block the Hole for the Emergency Shift lock release, preventing them from rolling your car out in neutral.
