as i was turning onto the onramp, the Contour cuts me right off and then guns it but gets stuck in traffic in the slow lanes and tails me as i am already in the fast lane. i saw that up ahead another lane starts on the freeway. he was RIGHT on my ass going 80 mph when i switch over to the new open laneand i punch just as i clear the car i was following.
surprisingly he was still with his hood at my trunk, so i pull to the right to allow him to pass me if he were able to. as soon as i did, he flies right by me as i'm doing 100 and approaching the 4th gear. i figured that if i didn't pull on him in 3rd, i just wasn't going to pull on him at all. my bro was with me at the time and said that he saw a well-sized puff of white smoke when i changed lanes for him. so who knows if he squeezed some nitrous on me right then or before.
all i gotta say is that the fucker was fast enough to not allow time for me to give a thumbs up since i merged onto another freeway.

and to tell you the truth viscous, i wasn't all that surprised being that he also is a 6 cyl. FWD. he it probably doesn't take much to get them ruuning that well. it's ok, i don't mind losing - in styyyle baby!

holy crap, he really is a lesser opponent! it's got a 2.5L 6 putting out only 200bhp/170btq. this is 5spd which weighs in at ~3100 lbs. so this guy must've been really busy under the hood to be able to humiliate me as he did. it is time for me to add nitrous and wings to my car too.

actually stock they are rated at a high 15 and dont take nitrous well AT ALL..

so your looking at a 3.0 liter swap w/ nitrous maybe

my buddy has a pretty modded one and no 2.5 could do that to you unless it was about to blow the fuck up

 

i'm thinking he was SC'd, cos he kept up pretty good. unless he was squeezing the whole time. all this was about aa 1/2 mile from the onramp to the junction to the 805N from the 54W.

 

This really doesn't surprice me all that much. Since i my first car that i actually bought was a 97 contour se 5-speed w/ the 2.5L V6, i just thought i'd chime in and let you guys know that paxton and vortech both made supercharger kits for the Ford 2.5L V6 used in the conour, contour SVT, and the cougar. There are also a decent amount of other bolt ons, chips and various other performance parts for them. Granted, there aren't nearly as many as for a civic (or any honda for that matter), but they can still be modded quite nicely. Of course, at the end of the day, he's still driving a Ford, and you're driving a much nicer Acura. I bet if he could trade cars with you, he would in a heartbeat.

There's a few turbo'd ones on the Contour forums, most running mid 12's. I almost bought one. Farking bad ass. I still want one. I've wanted one since they first came out in '98.

 

I've raced both SVT Contours and SVT Focus hatches in my stock TL-P and won both times. The Focus put up a stronger fight than the Contour.

So he definitely had some kind of mods.

 

I had a posted a thread on here about my races with a 3.0 swapped 5spd Contour.

He's always own me off the line (he has Falken Azenis.. I have bald stockers), and we would be more or less identical in top-end. No one would pull an inch from 60-120mph. (I run 14.3 @ 97).

He probably had F/I! Before I bought my Accord coupe I had a 99 cougar w/ vortech s/c and few other goodies. It was pretty quick and a total sleeper! There were plenty of times when I would surprise the hell out of people. Damn I miss that car. BTW, I never had any problems out of it even with all the mods.

 

I HATE pickups but that one is bad@$$!!!
