My car is hit again
My car was hit while I was getting out of the car by a 16yrs old idiot who had no driver license, driving a probable stolen car with no insurance.
He lied to me that he had insurance and driver license at his family car shop which was about 1000 ft away. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it so I followed him to the shop after taking several pictures and every info available on the car (VIN and temp. plate
). Several Mexican guys (no offense) came out and they talked in Spanish then 1 guy approached me and told me "go home, come back tomorrow and we'll fix the car for you." I was like "WTF?" I demanded to see the other guy's driver license and proof of insurance. He then told me "I left them at home. Just come back tomorrow and we'll fix your car."
The shop that they had was a junk yard looking shop. There is no chance in hell that I'd have them fix my car. So I asked for the license and insurance or I'd call the cops. He came back and talked to the other guys again and the other dude came out and told me "what do you need ID and insurance for? It's no big deal."
I turned around and called the cops. By this time, that kid got scared and asked me to stop. I finished reporting to the dispatcher, told him to go back to the scene and left.
30 min later, cop showed up. Told him what happened. The dude couldn't tell the cop whose the car belongs to so the cop torn the temp. plate and put the guy in his cruiser. The cop suspected the car was stolen but there was no report on the car. He suggested that I file a claim with my insurance. Have them pay for the damage then sue the kid's parents.
One more cop showed up. I left. The kid was taken to the family shop. And I'm stuck with deductible and a claim just because that idiot backed the car out fast w/o looking I wonder what would happen if I got out about 3 seconds ealier and made it to the front of my car. If that was the case, I probably wouldn't be here typing up this thread.

Dude dont sweat it... I love my car but look at it this way ... its a car and some money out of your poscket.. not your leg , arm , or worse... Yeah it sucks when some ignorant prick doesnt pay attention and adds to your daily bullshit level... but look at it this way by now he's on his way back to slinging tacos and burritos on the other side of the border

), the damage doesn't look that bad, maybe another bumper repaint job?? This could have been much, much, much worse & glad to hear you're doing OK.

Shit, from the first pics it did not look too bad, but the front view is a killer. That is some bullshit. You gonna need a grand to fix this shit. Someone is gonna need to come up with that grand and I hope its not your insurance and not you. Lean on them.

Sorry to hear of mis hap. Glad U R ok. If the bumper is is good form, only a repaint of front bumper is needed which has cost me ahhhh around 3 bills and looked allright ... only I could tell of such a mis hap.... Good luck

Dude, that sucks. Hope you get it taken care of w/o putting any of your dollars into it. Least you have some police reports so getting your deductable back should be straightforward.

a 60 yr old lady decided to park her Crown Vic's license plate holder 3" into my front bumper the second weekend I had my CL. In an effort to show me that her car wasn't the cause of the paint chip (he wasn't there before and didn't think it was "aligned"), her husband proceeded to bury that shit into my bumper again. :angry: Old people should be required to drive paper cars that disintigrate when they hit anything... not 10 ton land yachts.
Our 3rd car (89 accord coupe) was parked on the street about 3 weeks back. At ~3:00AM someone hit it from the front quarter panel on. Car was considered a complete loss. Had to suck on a $500 deductable because they never caught the driver.

Well having had my 01 in the shop 4 times (3 for bumper damage) I would say that the damage is about 500. My rear bumper was cracked and I was given two prices 501 and 545.
Not sure about the front. I know a repaint on the rear is 300. The part is 231. You are lucky they did not damage metal.
In some cases they can get the new bumper, paint it, then you can show up and do the bumper swap. That way it saves you from a 2 day car rental.

Make sure that the bumper underneath is not damaged. The bumper cover is all cosmetic and only looks bad. But if the bumper is damaged, it can cause some serious problems if you get into another accident.

I dont know if it was me because I passed that intersection at least 5 times a day.
Come to think of it, it's probaly not a stolen car. If it was, the dumbfucks would probably take off on foot (I wouldn't wanna chase them). But it's not their car because they didn't know the owner's name. The family owns a junk yard shop, the car had some body filler that's being sanded, therefore, I think it's a customer's car. They just took the car out and drove around then hit me.

There is a shop called Sunrise. They only specialize on Acura vehicles. They are located on the other side of Belle Park (the street before baneway) Does pretty good work and do re-paints for some dealers too.

When I used to work at Endless Performance years ago, that's where we took most of the body kits and spoilers painted. The R spoiler on my integra was taken there to get painted.
Its been over 5 years and shows no signs of fading (with proper care).... However I havent had any body work or scratches on the TL since thats my weekend car. BTW It's not an Asian Shop that I know of. I always talked to Paul but Im not sure if he is even there anymore.
