my accord vs fairly new Grand Prix
okay you guys don't make fun of my 4-popper accord(it's a good car). but this Guy with a chick in passenger seat(it was a 2 door) bright Red Grand Prix( i think might have been a grand am) it has a small factory spoiler. he came up on me on Interstate. and gave me the finger. (I knew he had only a 4- popper also cause it didn't say 3100 V-6 on the side) then I just hear the V-TEC wind out. I don't think he liked Import cars. So i get up beside him and said jeez for being american made that car SLOW . then I hear him tromp it harder( i was at 3/4 throttle) i said to myself alright he wants to play. I just drilled mine and smoked him.
so a pontiac bit the dust

Grand Prix I think is a 3.8L V6 190-200hp... and the Grand Am is a 3.4L V6 that puts down about 170hp.
I used to be up on Pontiac's buts its been awhile so my numbers might be off.
As far as the 4 bangers are concerned I have no clue.

The 3.8 V6 Grand Prix is pretty quick. You might have raced a 4 cylinder Grand Am, or even a 6 cylinder Grand Am I think which runs like low 16's. But watch out for those Pontiac Bonneville SSEi. Supercharged and it flies for what it looks like. I mean they are in the low 15's and it doesn't look like a 15 car.

Also Pontiac makes a Grand Prix GTP I think it is called and it has dual exhuasts with 4 pipes total. That thing runs upper 14's to low 15's stock so watch out for that thing. A guy had one at the track a couple nights ago with a few minor mods and he ran mid 14's.

yeah i'm pretty sure it was a 4 banger. I don't even pull up on GTP. there's a guy at work with one. He thinks its the baddest car Front Wheel Drive car made. I said shut up a CL type S would spank you.

HAHAH, yeah those GTP's are pretty nice. Stock vs. Stock the CL-S would take it. It is about equal to a CL-P stock. But all those things need are an intake and this guy had an exhausts and he was running mid 14's. Also there are ECU upgrades you can do for that car.
They will take the CLS in the twisties though, they have that wide body and great suspension handling, I had GM Sway bars in my Alero and it handled 10 times better than the CL.

Yeah, the 4 cyl Grand Ma's are only 150hp or so. The 3.4 V6 ones are 170 for the non Ram Air version but have a ton of torque... so they feel fast but actually run outta steam pretty quickly.
As for the supercharged 3.8L V6 found in the Buick Regal GS and Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, those are no joke, especially when modded. I raced the Buick in a stock WRX sedan and he pulled on me. He had at least an intake and exhaust. Too bad the road was straight.

Guys...all a GTP or GS(regal) needs is a pulley and its got 300 hp at crank. Sorry but unless you have headers you won't keep up wit one with a new sc pulley.

I don't think changing just the pulleys would toast a CL-S. I'd say you'd have have to install a CAI,pulleys,pipe and maybe a header. Then I think they'd probably toast a CL-S.
