)okay so I'm going down state route near where I live I'm about a car length or car lengh and half behind this 300M all the sudden he locks up his brakes(i thought you know cause we live out in the country occassionally a deer,dog , or something ran across the road) so I think okay don't think anything of it. then about 100 yards later does same thing (he gets a little smoke off the tires from locking them up)(at these point i'm ticked cause i know he's screwing off) my best bud in my car. He says his favorite line from Fast and Furious(he looks over at me) and says SMOKE HIM. So this (55+ year old man either doesn't know how to drive or his 300M blows) I hear my V-TEC kick in and shift down. I hear him open up his 300M and I passed him like nothing.then about 1/4 mile later I turned(and i took my SWEET TIME to turn) .to think my buddy looking into getting one of these :thumbsdn: but he's a HUGE(listen to this) Ford Escort fan(he's written Ford i bet 8 times saying they f#cked up when they brought out the Focus(which he says stands for f#cked over completely useless car )

The guy in the 300M wasn't racing. There is no way your 94 Accord could "smoke him". Or even beat him for that matter. According to Car-stats, even with a Manual, you car does 8.4. The 300M does ~7.8 (I know these are mag figures, but it shows you the difference in performance)

You are one of those typical Accord drivers I love to hate. You think your Accord is the fastest car on the road.
A 3.0 V6 Accord should be about even with a 300M. I know because I have driven both cars.

Because the 300M is NOT a POS. Yes, it's a Chrystler, but our cars are not built THAT much better. I used to have a Intrepid with the 3.5L and it was MUCH faster than any 4-cylinder Accord. And I hate to say it, but it had less rattles than my CL.

I am just sick of Civic/Accord drivers pretending they drive race cars. Come to NYC and you will see what I mean

are you kidding the 300M is like one of the biggest floaters in the turd bowl. I drove one. for the size of the car i wasn't impressed with the acceleration. a CL-S even a regular CL would kill a 300M. (I even think a IS300 would take a 300M). by the way I've seen some mean 4-cylinder Accords kick the hell out of v-6's. This is why I'm leaning toward the 2003 Accord type R(it's a turned up 4-cylinder) look Civic Si(my friend has one with a Jackson Supercharger ,headers and pipe on it,body kit and a few other little things) but he beat a v-6 Accord.
Another good story about Dodge(y'all will get a laugh out of these) :P
As you know Dodge and Benz is hooked up. cause to put it bluntly Dodge's quality blows Benz was gonna built everything for the Neon except the frame and the brakes(Dodge was gonna build that) Dodge couldn't make good enough brakes to pass the test to ship them overseas I mean hell it's only your brakes. If they can't build good brakes for a little car can you imagine for a 300M

First of all, I HAD an Intrepid. Secondly, about the NYC part, I was talking about Accord drivers being idiots. My Interpid actually held it's own. It's no match for a CL-S.. Never said it was. I was talking about 4 cylider Accords.

Try out your 6-speed on my CL-S. I bet I would beat you quite easily at the moment. I'll give you a little hint of what I have(Headers, CAI, other goodies)

The 300M is not a POS. It's a Chrystler, yes. Is it built as well as our cars? No.... but it's far from a POS

My Maxima is a lot more solid than my CL-S, but I like my CL for other reasons (engine, value)

Maybe a Hyundai v6???

yo Cus, where in queens, i used to live out in whitestone....so do you go down to like franny lew or greenpoint? cuz i'd like to take a shot at an automatic CL i wanna see the difference. All i have is intake but i get my exhaust tuesday. I go out to hempstead turnpike a lot. And i have to agree the 300M is overrated and most chryslers are slow piece's of shit....but the 94 accord is nothing cuz my friend has with AEM CAI and greddy EVO and they're not fast at all. BUt if you say you beat em, i have no problem with that

a 300m is not built anywhere near as good as our cars.............as far as racing i think a stock 6 speed and a modded auto would be a fair race

Hey.. I'm from Whitestone... Malba actually. Nice to finally meet someone who knows the area. I always end up driving down Franny Lew... As you can see I have had some interesting race stories from that strip. I never made it down to Greenpoint. Do they race down Greenpoint Ave? At the moment I am living in CT for work, but I usually come back down to Whitestone on the weekends. As you can see in another thread, I raced a Grand National on Franny Lew this Saturday. Do you have a 6-speed CL-S?

I definitely agree Chrystlers are definitely not in the same league as our cars, but I was just trying to say they are not TOTAL POS's. The 300M has a decent engine and build quality isn't bad at all for an American car.

My dad had a LHS. It is just a big version of the 300M. It has the same exact engine. And when you punch that big boy, it moves. Those cars may not be a match for a CL-S, but they are not sluggish.

Well why not put this if 300M is a POS or not aside, the main point is, can a 94 Accord EX, with 145hps and 13?lbs torque, can beat a 300M??? Well, lets put it this way, 300M is not quick, but compare to 94 EX torqueless(not saying Accord are bad)motor, I seriously do NOT think you can smoke a torquey V6.... maybe you can pull on him, but I seriously doubt "SMOKE" is a word for it....

You cant say "Oh i am gonna get an Accord TypeR or watever Type".... Yes you can get one, BUT, is it out yet?? NO! Do you have one yet?? NO! well, exactly, we are talking about now, but not future....

Plus, I dont think "cusdaddy" is flaming "water-s" at all.... he is just trying to point out his opinion that he does not think an accord EX can smoke a 300M.... thats cant be flame...

Also, to those of you who THINK 300M is a POS.... well, what is your definition of POS?? Maybe the BMW guys think Acura is POS too... I am sure whoever own a 300M will NOT appericate your commend saying their car is a POS, same as, you dont want others to say your car is POS too.... Same stuff..... Why not respect others car, they have their market, and value too.... Why not try to put yourself in their place???

BTW, I do not think 94 Accord is slow, bad or whatver, NOT AT ALL, cuz I do respect other cars too, cuz I do not want people say my CL is a slow ass when it's the year of 2009......

I did not mean to flame anyone, (my apologies) but I just didn't appreciate people calling the 300M a POS.

I used to own a similar car, (Dodge Intrepid) and I liked it for the time. Compared to my Acura, my Acura is a far better car, but it wasn't half bad. No major reliability problems, nice torquey 3.5L v6, great handling for it's size, and best of all price. (I couldn't afford an Acura at the time)

I upgraded to my car now, and I am proud I could pay for it, but as laser said, I felt insulted when my friend who drives a S4 called my car (a car I paid my hard earned $$ for) crap once, so I can see calling a 300M (a car many people pay 30k+ for) insulting.

To each his own. That's how I see it. That's why there are so many choices out there for us

A few weeks ago, I was going down N. Druid Hills....a curvry road notorious for pigs....I was doing about 40 (the limit)...and I see lights pullin on me quick...it was a chick in the 300M rag top...my roomie says, "hit it", and I obliged...took the car over no prob...flashed my brake lights to say, "sorry bitch", but she came again....i let her get even with me at about 60, then I floored it to 90...no prob for the J32A2...so after killing her, i pulled into my apt complex...she pulled into it also....(judging by the lane she was in, she originally had no intention of coming into my complex, so she must have wanted something...)....then the security officer in my complex stops me, scares away the hot bitch in the 300M, and thus, ruins my night...what an asshole this guy is...he starts yelling at me for speeding in my complex, and i told him that if he talks this way to the wrong guy, he will end up with a couple of Hydra-shocks through his cranium...what an ass....

...bottom line, the 300M is no match for any V6, and it would not surprise me if a 4 beat it....

Like somebody said before....different people....different markets. Some people like the 300M, some people think it's a POS. Whatever....everybody has their own thing. Personally, I kinda liked the 300M, but would I ever buy one? Heck no! I, along with 99.9% of the people on this board would take a CL (even a 1st gen like mine ) over a 300M anyday. I only see old people driving 300M's around here anyways.........

300M isn't a POS unless it tries to race other people on the road. To tell you honestly, I haven't driven one nor would I care to -- It would be a "piece of shit" of it tried to race me (stock 300M vs. Stock 01 CLS). I hate people who don't know who they are fuggin' with..tryin' to be all that on the road.

The accord is a piece of shit too. I also have a 4 door v6 and it's nothing fast. It's better than a 4 banger in terms of cruising (bigger displacement) but it's dog shit compared to my CLS. I also hate those fuggin' 2 door accord owners (both 4 bangers and those v6'ers). They think they own a super car or some shit. Usually I don't even bother with them when i'm in my CLS...just sometimes I get ticked off and I stomped on their piece of shit whenever they act like a bitch that has balls.

Anyway, my point is EVERY AMERICAN BRAND NAME VEHICLE is a piece of shit both engine quality wise and refinement. I've actually heard some poor american folk say this: "I don't care if my american car breaks down easy....I'll just fix it myself...I'll never buy anything german or japanese".

Bottom line is both the accord v6 and the 300M are pieces of shit compared to my CLS.

What about the LS1, LS6, Trailblazer Engine, 3.8L Supercharged, Northstar? Refined, powerful, fuel effieient, and have a pretty good reliability record.
