Well, I JUST got me a new '01 Acura 3.2 Cl type S. Right now, it's all stock, but I plan to change that ass soon as I come across some good deals. Any way, Beat A z28 in AUTO... surprised me to tell you the truth, either he was a bad driver, or i truly have one kick a$$ automobile
Congrats on the Kill, but it is a bit hard to believe without more info. Do you know if it was an LT1 or LS1? Either way, he should have handed you your lunch. Don't expect them all to turn out that way.
sounds like an LT1. stock auto LT1 is 285hp in the camaro since they didnt have the ram air option in the early 4th gen Camaros (until 1998) and its in the high high 13s, maybe even low 14s with bad traction.
ram air on 93 and up firebird and 96 and up camaros.
unlike our CLS, there isn't a significant difference between the 4 spd auto and 6 spd manual trans cars in the f bods. 1/4 mile times are essentially identical with the manual trapping about 1 mph better.
I've seen a stock 01 ws6 auto run a 12.9, freak i know but generally low to mid 13s for ls1s and upper 13s to about 14 flat for lt1s.
don't be fooled by the auto, the cls actually stands a better chance against a stick since it's more likely there'll be driver error.
My wife, or for that fact my mother could turn low 13s in my camaro ss all day long. roll in a little and stomp it, not hard to do.

yes yes... i found out later i shouldnt have beat him as bad as i did... he said he redlined for 3 or 4 seconds between 2nd and 3rd gear... and the race itself consisted of complete stop from one redlight to another with a slight curve ( me having the outside ). i dont exactly, but i estimate the distance was near a quarter. Still felt nice when the vtech kicked in and brocken white lines turned solid.... muhah... big step up from my last car (GMC yukon)
