You guys are going to think I'm crazy but I would like honest answers from all of you. Would anyone be willing to buy my car the way it currently sits? I would just like to feel out if they're would be any interest for it.

I always keep a eye out for 03-04 cobras. Well I just found one for sale yesterday morning that I want really bad!!! If I had someone willing to buy my cl today, I wouldn't even think twice about selling it seriously lol. It's a 03 cobra black on black with 64k miles for 23k. It's a very reputable seller and I could never find a deal like this on another one. It has a very long list of mods and I have a few parts from my foxbody mustang that could work on it.

Please let me know if anyone would even be interested in my cl.

Here's the 03 cobra

I myself dream of a Termi too, while it may be a good deal, do you really want that one? Even if it's legal, that hardly looks like a street car- 2 speed glide, huge cowl hood, and a cage? Are you serious dude?? lol

I know it sounds crazy but that car has a lot of money in parts compared to what they are asking. Shit stock cobras with only a couple bolt ons go for that price. A hood is nothing and can easily be changed. The trans isn't really the greatest for a daily driver but that can easily be fixed. I'm going to call them to get some more details on the car that they left out.

I used to daily drive my foxbody mustang with the same exact rear tires as the cobra and I had a roll bar also. It's easy to swap out the hood, put wipers on, and get a set of street wheels/tires. I had a/c and heat so it made it more comfortable and the cobra has the same. The cobra can be street able very easily with a small amount of work.

For the price I couldn't find another cobra with about the same parts that's for sure...

So would anyone would be interested in my cl? Or how do you guys think I can get for it realistically? My dad's friend loves my car and has offered my 11k a few times but I told him no lol.

It's tough for people to sell non modded cls on here for less than 10k. I think it would take a while for someone to buy yours the way it is.

To each his own but personally I hated that style or should I say (lack of style) mustang. If your Dad's friend loves your car then that would be the first place to turn to because I don't see you getting more than that for your car.

I might regret it if I bought less of a car. Hands down that cobra would please me better than my cl, even with a little work of getting it back in street trim lol. The only reason I'm so interested in that one is because it's a great price for all the mods done.

I love my cl and it's a great car but I would let it go for the right price so I can put a decent down payment on that cobra. So what would a realistic price for my cl be?

I understand everyone has their own opinion. I personally love my 87-93 foxbody body style (I own a 92), 03-04 cobra, and the new 2011+ gt500's but those are out of my price range .

I'm a mustang lover at heart. I've owned all different years, about 6 total throughout the years since I was 17 years old.

Yeah he's always a option but I just wanted to hear some other peoples input if 11k was too low or not enough. Thanks for the post!

That's what I'm thinking I might do. I'm going to talk to my friends dad tomorrow to see if he really would be willing to buy my cl. I never got a chance to call about the cobra today. I need a few more details on the car that they left out, to decide whether I want it 100%.

Why would you daily drive a Cobra when you also have a TL?

You do still have the TL right?

Civicdrivr nope my younger brother has it now , the good part is I still get to drive and see it very often lol. I also found a 07 wdp tls with black interior bone stock other than tint for my gf a few months ago. We went to DE to buy it. She loves the car for a daily. I wouldn't daily that cobra if I bought it.

AnthraciteTypeS I'm pretty sure he means 11k as the way it sits. He hasn't seen it since I did the trunk, new front bumper with molded tl lip, and new tires. I'm going to call him tomorrow to see if he really is interested and wasn't just bsing around. He's always loved the cl ever since I had my 02 cl-p lol. He actually used to own a nsx but just sold it recently.

Honestly I don't even have the time to do that. I would just sell it the way you see it in the pictures above. Only because it would make it a quick sale, even if it's a slight loss. I would have to sell it in time before the cobra sells also. I'm going to call them in a few minutes to find out some more details.

Well it doesn't look like that cobra is the one. That company received the car on trade in for a expensive motorcycle they had for sale. So almost every question I asked him that I had written down they couldn't answer. So I'm going to pass on the car...

Sorry I was willing to leave you cl guys lol.

My quest with the cls continues lmao!!

We don't want you back now no, if you want a car you have to go for it so I don't blame you. Life is too short. I drove the CL yesterday and its too fun for me to give up.

I agree with you 110% on this statement! Yes the cl is a fun car to drive but me personally would have more fun in a cobra lmao! I still have my eye on that one. Depending if he can get in touch with the person who traded it in or if he's willing to take a lot lower than his asking price. There's still a chance I will try and get it.

Look what they can do with some work and pushing the stock longblock to the limit. Here's one for example.

Fox...if you have trouble doing 12s all motor, get the 3.7 TL intake manifold. I dyno'd yesterday adding the 3.7 manifold/tb and polished runners and picked up 15whp/6wtq peak!! This motor loves to breathe I didn't want to clutter your thread but I can post the dyno if you like comparing my setup before/after.

On a nice cool night and 1.8 60' I see no reason why he can't at least do low 13s. I think he needs a smaller slick though to do 12s though.

Sonnick I don't think the 3.7 manifold would benefit much more than my setup, oem manifold with p2r plenums, and p2r throttle body spacer correct me if I'm wrong? I'm having a friend make a 1/2 spacer to go in between the upper and lower manifold as we speak on his water jet machine at work. I'm going to use another p2r gasket also, so one is on each side of the spacer. So will see if that helps at all.

I agree with you on the smaller tire. I can probably get away with a 24-24.5 inch tire. It would probably be very close to redline in 4th gear even with tire growth. My 26 inch is probably closer to a 27 inch towards the finish line. Bias ply tires grow with speed slightly depending on the size. I also think it helps having a tire with a larger sidewall. You can clearly see it wrinkling and working in the pictures from the track on the last page.

I think all you guys are forgetting I never got a good 100% n/a pass lol. I learned to launch the car better on nitrous after those n/a passes. Right below rev limiter is perfect. It keeps the car from bogging. Also my clutch is on the weak side so that doesn't help.

It's going to be hard to run at least a 12.99 n/a. I'm going to need the new aluminum flywheel/clutch setup, new smaller slicks/skinny tires for rear(already have), official drag front and rear wheels, and some very nice weather. After all that, I think it still will be very close and I'm not 100% sure I could do it. In my opinion that is how my car will have to sit, to even have a chance.

My new goal is to try and run at least a 11.99 on spray lol. I think with just the new aluminum flywheel/clutch setup, walbro 255lph fuel pump, and upping the shot I can do it the way the car currently sits. Will see though. I'm procrastinating on the clutch because I'm afraid I will have a problem. Perfect example is one that Rajca is having right now.

I want to own a 03-04 cobra one day, maybe my itch for one will go away once I get my foxbody running. I'm calling the salesman tomorrow to see if he got in touch with the previous owner. So will see what happens with that..

Sorry for the long post guys I'm bored lmao.

The 3.7L manifold showed better gains than a ported stock manifold with plenums. Another good thing is the 3.7L manifold won't get as hot. Either way I think you should go with a bigger throttle body to get more air into the engine. It doesn't matter what manifold you have if your still running the stock throttle body.

Yeah but how much of a gain? I highly doubt it's worth doing the swap over. Unless I'm wrong and there is significant gains I could understand doing it. Two reasons I haven't ported my manifold and switched throttle bodies yet. I want to have a true bolt on only cls6 just to see what I can accomplish with that first. As for the throttle body I haven't swapped it because I don't think they're is a true bolt on option and I want to retain cruise control with all oem sensors. I'm afraid to ruin how well my cars runs like oem. I'm sure someone will figure out option soon with all these throttle body threads on here lately lol.

I think it was something like 4 more horsepower but that was with a ported stock manifold and throttle body so who knows how much difference there really is without a dyno. The problems you listed is why I'm just going to get a stock type s throttle body.

Just for reference I had the stock TB but a ported intake manifold....I also had stock runners at the time, but mine aren't really ported, maybe .5mm to be honest, but they are polished and look great. So I gained 15whp/6wtq over my ported intake manifold/stock TB/stock runners. And yes I checked my manifold and it was indeed ported by P2R. It's easy to see how smooth the inlet is and the 6 ports on the bottom as well to tell whether or not they are ported.

Yeah I'm not exactly sure what the gains would be compared to my setup. I can do a port and polish job on my upper and lowers if I decide too later down the road. I'm going to add that 1/2 spacer my friend is making while it's apart anyways for now. I'm not even sure if it will help or not lol.

Your referring to porting the throttle body after the blade correct? That's always a option down the road to match the upper and lower manifold also, if I ever decide to do that.

I always have the option to add a little more nitrous to reach my new goal, so that's why I'm being lazy about doing the porting lmao. Those are some nice gains!

My stock manifold was ported at the inlet and 6 ports leading to the runners. My current setup just has the manifold gasket matched to the runners. The TB, however, is max bored on both sides. 81mm inlet to 72mm outlet.

I know all about the 03-04 cobra. I think part of the reason I want one is because I miss driving my foxbody mustang lol. I probably won't even have that urge anymore once it's drivable again.

The only reason I want that one I posted is because for the mods, the price is pretty decent especially if he takes a lower offer. I've been slacking and haven't even called back to see if he got in touch with the previous owner.

I have a friend with a 03 30th anniversary with around 20k miles it's a 100% street car. He hardly ever drives it since he has a few other quick cars also. It runs mid 10's with a bone stock engine, upgraded supercharger, and bolt on's engine wise. It has a few other supporting mods also.
