I think the cl does have a return system but I'm not 100% sure. I'm not tuned still running the stock ecu.

Don't feel bad my best was only a 13.9 N/A lol. I have some work to do and wanted to make more nitrous passes so I only made 3 passes N/A out of both the times I was at the track in the past two weeks. Thank you!
Here is the video from down there.

And here is what the car made on that dyno NA vs. Open Bottle Spray(SAE Corrected)
246whp/228wtq to 351whp/311wtq

Nope. Did another pull after that and the NA numbers were consistent. Also we checked the plugs and they looked surprisingly good. The farther cylinders did show a little detonation(couple small flakes)

I little "Apple Cider" was a factor in this. My car also wasnt the only one that this dry shot method was done. The other was a HX35 Vitara SOHC that was having some issues with his direct port setup...

im looking into doing a 50-75 wet shot for the accord. Button activated and with a window switch. Was looking at the Jegs one... http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/40824/10002/-1`

Also to get some colder plugs.

^ Do it.

It's crazy Fox...the car doesn't really sound any faster on the bottle lol. Meaning, the gears don't seem to 'sound' much shorter with the extra power. I would've thought 3rd/4th would've sounded much shorter considering the 12mph difference in traps.

Great times though! 12.5 is very impressive. Loving the trap speed too. Sounds like J's love nitrous....

I noticed that also after watching the videos lol. I thought I would clearly be able to tell when I was spraying from the outside but I can't lol. Inside the car when on nitrous the car sounds way different it's weird. It also feels piss slow N/A compared to on the bottle haha.

So if you don't get under 13 seconds n/a in the next month do you lose all your bets, because I don't see that happening without more work done or weight removed?

I don't know it's up to those people. It's going to be hard. I think once I have the new clutch and flywheel that will be worth a few tenths alone. I also never really got a good pass n/a. It always bogged bad off the line, with more seat time I learned the car doesn't like to be launched right off the 6k limiter. Right below it is perfect and eliminates the bogging.

Once I have actual drag wheels with skinnys on the back that will be good for some unsprung weight removed. I can also remove the spare tire and jack. Not have a full nitrous bottle in the car if I'm running n/a. It's good to be very close I will need some perfect weather also.

I can guarantee a faster et on spray though. I will be able to raise the shot and actually hold the power.

Here's the list of people..
JBlueCLS6-$50
TheWeez-$20
INSPIRE 32V-$20
Richardparker-$5
Karanx7-$5

Fox, if you pay the photographer for his work then the watermarks disappear.

Yeah for now. My car isn't 100%. The clutch slips horribly. My n/a passes, which was only 3 total the car bogged on the launches. I found the sweet spot rpm wise for the launches after those passes. I will be going back soon..

12.56 on NOS?
Didn't expect that. .2 faster then me.
I'm sure it was covered, what shot did you use?

Dunno how I misread his text, it said:

"If he hits an 11.99 he earned his money. He's almost there in this heat."

I dont know why I had 12.5 on the brain. Thats entirely my fault.

Good work on running a 12.5 on some juice and a slipping clutch, there's definitely more to be had there with a better clutch. Your na pass seems to be very weak for the power your making though. I would have expected you to be trapping at least 102-103s. Is your clutch slipping when your NA too?

Yepp that et with a slipping clutch and only a 137 shot.

lol it's fine thanks for clarifying. I think I can easily do that also .

Yeah I really didn't get to do many n/a passes only 3 total and I fully launched off the 6k rev limiter the last two times which made the car bog horribly but resulted in a 13.950 and 13.967 both at 99mph. I learned after with some more seat time the car likes to be launched right below that limiter so it doesn't cut power.

Also the clutch slips pretty bad even n/a also, since I launch at such a high rpm at the track. On the street it doesn't slip as bad because I can't launch the car that hard and usually I only run from a roll.

Here's my n/a pass listen to how bad it slips and how it bogged on the launch lol. There's definitely a lot more left in it!

fox, love the way your car looks man, and much respect on the mods, but it sounds horrible..is it because of the custom headers?

It's not the headers, its the full exhaust he has. Makes it sound like poopy. I wouldn't be able to deal with that on a daily basis. Have you thought about another resonator fox? I know you said you were considering it in the past. I'm going to be rocking a cutout on my car. Quiet & comfortable for daily driving, and ready for battle when you need to handle business

Thank you. It sounds more raspy n/a compared to when it's on spray. But I agree I need to put another resonator on there. Honestly the vibrant one I already have on there didn't even help that much because it's a straight through design, just like the comptech mufflers. I think I need a resonator with baffles to get the rasp to go away.

on the 3rd gen TL, we've been using the magnaflow 10426 resonator.
it quells all rasp

A baffled resonator will hurt power. If you do a resonator, make sure it's straight through. The one Justin suggested is good.

Hopefully when you get that new clutch setup in your traps will increase for your N/A runs. I too, expected more in terms of trap speed.

I already have the vibrant ultra quiet resonator on there http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...products_id=47. It helped slightly but not enough for my liking. I knew it was going to be raspy when we built the exhaust but didn't think that bad lol. It's really only bad at lower rpms about 1.5k-4k rpm. I can sacrifice a little hp for a different tone with a baffled design or stick with what I have.

I don't understand how the magnaflow resonator that is the same design as my vibrant one will make much of a difference. I was thinking about just installing another vibrant to have two total or should I cut the vibrant one out and replace it with a magnaflow?

It sucks because the tone isn't the greatest but the positive part is I do have a very free flowing exhaust compared to other setups.

I'm sure my mph will increase with the new clutch setup. Another thing is it was very hot and humid so I'm sure that isn't helping either.

correct, if for some reason the magnaflow didnt work, people have added a second.
we also use the vibrant one as well.

That's probably what I will do eventually. At $110 a pop it gets expensive. I have a ridiculous amount of money in my exhaust so that's one of the reasons I haven't bought another one yet. You guys would cringe if you knew how much money I have tied up already on it lmao.

That's weird. I had pretty bad rasp too, similar to yours, and it sounded deep after installing the resonator, almost like a new exhaust. Where did you place yours, downstream or up? Mine is around where the original B pipe is, directly after the cats.

Mine is a little after the j pipe very close to where the stock cat would sit. Honestly the video makes it sound worse than how it does in person. It sounds very deep at idle also. Do you have a cat?

Here's some pictures I copied from my build thread so you can get a idea.

Sorry I said cats thinking of the jeep. Yes I have a cat. Mine is around the same place and sounded like yours when I was at the track and sounded a lot better after throwing the vibrant on. I'd have to find some vids before and after but your exhaust is unique to that may be why.

The Vibrant UQ is the only resonator you have? No wonder it's raspy as fawk lol that resonator is tiny. The Magnaflow will do a better job because it's larger. As long as you have enough volume of sound deadening, you can make a straight through exhaust quiet as well. Just add it right behind your current reso.

And trust me I know how much $$ can be invested in exhaust alone. I've changed through 4 different catback setups and 2 Jpipes so far.
