The Mustang return... You gotta read this!

For those of you not familiar with the earlier post:

http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=65837

Read up!!!

Anyway... I'm out again running errands yesterday, and I see a Mustang coming up in my rear view mirror. The car pulls up next to me at the light, I look over and it's the SAME kid in the earlier post. He sees me and invites me AGAIN to roll down my window. I couldn't have imagined what he was about to say, but this just takes the cake.

"Hey... I was talking to my Dad and he and I agree that up must have some kind of a nitrous kit in your car to be that fast. Don't use it this time, ok??? I want to see what your car is really like."

So I respond... "Um... I don't have a NOS kit. Believe it or not, the car is really pretty quick."

He responds with... "Come on man. There's no WAY a Honda can be THAT fast. Just run normally."

Me... "OK. Do me a favor. Let me know if I left and wax on my back bumper when I pull away from you."

Him...

We caught the light at the right time to have our little conversation. And it was on a road that had a speed limit of 55mph.

VSA off and gateshift D1-D2-D3...

I ROLLED out of the start. And then just floored it. Caught him before I could blink and flew past him like he was standing still. Game over by 60mph... I shut it down and pulled over. He come up next to me, looks completely dumbfounded AGAIN, and has the balls to ask me "Are you sure you didn't use your NOS???"

Me... "Look junior... You obviously need an education. Why don't you go read up on the car at acura.com or why not come by for the best education possible at acura-cl.com."

Damn, if he shows up...

Dipass!!!

Kinda had same type of experiences. Some people don't know the difference between an A4 and an S4. They insist that the car is modded. All you can do is laugh and drive off.

Good kill! I can't stand the old 5.0 and early 4.6 mustangs or most of their owners. I can't wait to line the Impala SS next to one. The new retro Mustang is sweet though!

if it was a base stang, then it was probably the 3.8 v6 that came out in the 2000 MY run (which is retarded slow for a stang )

Either way, probably pretty funny....

My soon to be brother in law has a 99 GT Mustang convertible, we wanna go to track and have ourselves a little race. I only think he has a CAI, its also a manual, so I dont know how close its going to be over a 1/4 mile race.

I will have to wait and see...

IMO there are ALOT more idiot import (civic, dsm, integra) owners out there than mustang/camaro owners. At least most mustang owners take their car to the drag strip, do mods that actually gain hp/acceleration, and can back up some smack talk.

BTW most 5.0L's are not stock at this point. Most at least have underdrive pulleys, bumped timing, and steeper rear gears. Usually the ones that are slow are not maintained AT ALL, and are in a very poor state of tune. Usually a set of plugs, wires, rotor, cap & timing check gets them back to running healthy.

My 94 GT (5.0L 5 speed) ran 14.9 @ 94mph bone stock, and with about $1k in mods runs 13.8's @ 98mph consistently.

Plus, its a helluva lot funner to drive than any fwd car i've ever driven (and i've driven alot).

P.S. Nice nOOb bump
