I've had my CL-S for about a year now. I just installed xs power headers and a drop in k&n filter. Been looking for a lead foot such as myself... and finally found one in a new Mustang GT. It looked stock w/ a clear brake light on the spoiler.

At the light, my lane ends in about 5000 ft. So I would have to pass him and overtake his lane.

Green light, I get on it and to my suprise he does too. I get about a 3/4 car length grab 2nd and keep the distance. I am soo amazed that I am ahead and then I mis 3rd. I could have cut him off but instead slow down.

I then get up next to him, to ask if his is stock or to just complement him on his car, but he refuses to even look over at me. Even shaking his head at me... too bad I like those cars and just wanted to bs a little. I guess that he didn't want me to overtake him in his lane and when the Import DID overtake him he was too embarressed to talk about it...

Funny thing is I was embarressed for missing the shift... I need more practice, more practice....then maybe next time

Too bad you missed that shift. It would have been interesting to see the end result should you have been able to cycle through to 4th gear. The new V8 stangs are very quick.

I raced an 01 GT with a 5 speed and exhaust right before I got my XS headers and stayed within half a car up to 100MPH. As they are reputed to run 13.9's he should have walked me. Part of the time it's not what is under the hood but what the driver can do with what he's got.

How did you miss 3rd gear in an auto? Were you in SS, and didn't push the stick forward enough? That's happened to me before. Good run though. You should have had him by your back bumper. Was that on the 19"s?

i was gate shifting. For some reason I like to ride around and gate shift everywhere. lol

yea on 19s. I will say this thou he had his a/c on b/c his windows were up and it was hot ouside.

dam I wish I could go back to that light....lol.

Just to let you know, I owned a CL-S for 9 months and now have a 2000 Mustang GT and the CL-S has NO chance and I only have an exhaust. There is NO WAY that he was pushing it to it's max because they run 13.5s all day completely stock because my '00 GT with an exhaust still has a small edge on the CL-S w/ headers at 260hp 302tq stock. The '05+ GT is 300hp, 320tq. I know you guys don't want to hear that and all, but they just don't know how to drive if you beat them.

A/C doesn't matter... On most cars, once you go WOT, the A/C turns off till you let off the gas.

So having the A/C on and slowing down your car is now an urban myth with newer cars.
