Mustang Cobra

I was leaving a friend's house, with him in the car and we run into a black Cobra with I would imagine was just exhaust. I lined up with him and from a roll off a light so traction wasn't a huge issue for me, and he pulled about 2-2.5 cars. I didnt think they would pull that much on me with i/h/sc'r/hbp, could I be due for tranny number 4?? It seems like it's shifting kind of funny again, and I get some lag off the line (torque converter?)

Yes, thats a very important question. By the sounds of it, it was an 03+ which you rightfully lost to. but if it was an older one, you should of hang or taken it, unless it was modded!

my boss has a 93 mustang 5.0 coupe. He can run 11.6, but than again he's got suspension, built up 5.0, intake, exhaust, fuel managament, wheels and tires and that's his daily driver. It's a damn fast car. He sold his other mustang salleen to my neighbor. And his one he has now kicks the salleens ass. My boss always gives me shit because he says I drive a honda. But I told him I'd race him anytime, and i know I will get my ass handed to me.

Maybe not in the Acura, although it does hold it's own against majority of the mustang's out here. But all the stangs should be glad they didn't catch me on a weekend with one of the other rides out. Then theres no hope for the poor little snake. The hawk especially loves to eat skinned and SMOKED snake.

P.S. - It was the last gen, with just exhaust (loud growl) as far as I know, he let out a long, loud yelp shifting into 2nd and 3rd gear. I don't think the extra weight of my 200Lb friend helped me either since the Cobra didn't have a passanger, and the drive was a skinny little guy.

of Cobra's will walk your SL65 (it's super boosted, and fast, but it's pretty heavy, and a Ken Belle or Whippled Cobra can hang...) but your freaking hawk is impressive. A "handful" of snakes might be able to run with your hawk, but yeah, I'd probably try to throw some water on the road before I raced you. =)

I know there are some extremely fast Cobra's out there, my old man has some work done to his, and it pulled low 11's on a g-tech, his TT vette is a different story, the hawk won't even touch that thing.

IMO, cobra + $1600 set of pulleys = 11 sec monster...

don't get me wrong, your hawk is very impressive, but cobras are O_O!

my cousin had the 1996 cobra. it was sick. he threw a vortech supercharger in it and it was probably pullin the low 11's. On a g-tech, my supra with bad, bad, bad nittos was running a consistent 4.0-4.1 0-60 traps.

Nice race mang but
Jk hehe

HOWEVER, you would have done some moppin with your sl65. Those are very very powerful and awsome vehicles. Did the mustang pull hard at the start ? The Cl-s seems to like to climb to its power were as the stangs just go and end up shifting sooner than CL-s

Badass what do you run in the quarter mile? 99-01 Cobras with bolt on's are no joke either, you can get them to run 12's with a bit of work. If it was an 03, he would have taken you more then 2-3 cars (depending on how long you ran for).

Yes. Mustangs can super fast and there are tons of cheap bolt-ons for those.
Gotta love the SL65 dude. Super speed and top down. When I put the top down on my girl, it is not about speed, its about being seen in the 360 spyder on custom made 20's.

Sorry I haven't been on here in a while. I haven't had a chance to get exact times at the track, but since I've had the 235's installed it hooks much better off the line, I want to say mid-slightly higher 13's, atleast I hope I'm somewhere in there. We only ran up to 110 then I quit, I'm sure he would have pulled pretty hard after I hit the 4th gear wall which is why I gave up before making myself look bad.

I do love the SL, except when it's driven it's rarely about super speed, 9 times out of 10 you'll find me driving slow in the right lane so everyone can see. On occasion I'll have some idiotic little kid in a civic or such rev at me, so I just give him a little run off the line and make him look stupid and then slow down again, it's even better when they are driving with a girl in the car. When will these kids learn??

I have pictures of all of mine, I thought I posted them up on these boards before, maybe that was autopia. I however, don't have any of my old man's. We are in the process of starting a web album for him, well, we will be when I make some time!

Thanks Bad. I know what you mean about driving slow so everyone can look. Little sample of sweetie.
