MT question

So my friend fried my clutch last weekend which forced me to get a new clutch. My issue is 3rd gear. When under high rpm shifting 3rd gear seems to slip on me almost all the time. This happened even before the clutch replacement. Im thinking this is just driver error on my part. Im wondering if this is an issue with any other 6 speeds. Thanks for any input.

Oh I have a 03 CL-S with 75k. clutch is brand new. comptech headers, p2r tb spacers, p2r img, injen cai, nrg dampers, ur ssc pulleys.

what do you mean by slip? you drop the clutch and it doesn't seem to stick? that's probably the clutch damper device. search for that in the forums.

when i had that in my car i could not drive it smoothly and it also made it seem like it was slipping, but in fact was that little puck. haha

There is a TSB out for 3rd gear problems in the RSX, Civic Si, CLS6, and a few other honda models with the 6 speed tranny.

Call Honda/Acura and see what they tell you.

well i looked at both the tsb and the cdd. sounds like my problem is closer to the cdd. but it could be either. now im thinking about doing the bypass but i dont really push it that often anyone actually get the gear set replaced or do the bypass?

true, but you might be able to get it done since it still has to do with the third gear.

When I drive my car hard it "slips" into third as well. It's really annoying. My car has 58k on it, btw.
