TSB for 6 Speed 3rd Gear
TSB for 6 Speed 3rd Gear
Someone closed my thread a while back, I don't know why.

I also would have liked to see more user participation on the Acura side on this issue given how well Honda owners got involved.
Regardless, Honda released a TSB for the 6 Speed 3rd gear set replacement with new part numbers.

The TSB is there.
You can see the article being referenced on consumerist and Fox News.

I have not been able to confirm if there is an Acura TSB out for the TL and RSX owners or not.
But if not I would HIGHLY suggest some of you TL owners get on the horn with Acura about it.
The issue with 3rd gear is mechanical, and despite how great the syncromesh feels our tests with Si's and Accord showed the issue coming back after 20k on the fluid.

well this is really big for the TL and Si guys, personally i've never had a problem with my 3rd gear (CL) and i've not heard anything about it for the CL guys either; that said, i'm also out of warranty and my tranny is just getting hard to shift all over the place, i'll probably try to get something done at least.

6 speed Accord here. I've never had a problem with 3rd either, so would it even be worth it to bring this up to my dealer? I should mention I'm out of warranty, too. It is about time to have the tranny fluid changed though, right around 47k miles on it now.

Wow! They finally acknowledged it! Prior to the GMSFM (GM Synchromesh Friction Modified) change, I was having the 3rd gear problem. I don't have that problem anymore with 3rd gear, but 2nd gear seems to be a little notchy when it's cold and the car hasn't warmed up enough.
