MPG/road trip

Well, I did a road trip to NYC. My car is still there though. I had to fly back to FL, for a work problem. Works out, because I will now be able to go to the PAA meet
Anyway, I tracked my MPG from FL, 2nd, & 3rd tanks of gas. Only filled up 3 times. I am amazed!! I got 34MPG, then 33MPG! This was HW driving at 75-80mph with no AC/Heat. Best I could do the last time was 26mpg when the car had 1K miles, & no mods. Was it the CAI? Tires? Was it broken in now? Don't know, but it's something!

Also I take back the commit I made at christmas about the seats not being comfortable. They ARE. I guess they needed to be broken in more. Also I found a great driving position that I used the whole trip.(finally) The CAI also was good. I am going to keep it on the car. I was concerned about the extra noise on a long distance trip. I was pleased at how quiet it was at HW speeds for 18 hours.

I saw no CL-S's anywhere on my trip. I was in Staten Island NY, & saw a ton of TL's, & TL-S's. But no CL-S's. I didn't see any driving though Jersey either. I guess I will see alot at the PAA meet though

That's great news on the MPG. I can already see a difference in my car, and it only has 4000 miles on it. It's already doing about 1-2mpg better than it was at 1000 miles.

Damn... 34MPG in a car like ours. I'm impressed!

Looks like you will officially win the “Farthest Driver” award this year.

BTW....My highest MPG was 32.5 with my Auto and the cruise set at 75MPH.

I guess it's my driving

In regular driving mixing city with highway, I get 21 mpg. But on my trip from San Diego to San Francisco I got 31 mpg so I guess how heavy you press the gas really matters. I did 75 on the highway pretty much all the way. I think breaking it in (10,000 miles now) helped as does the CAI.
