MP3 player

Has anyone installed an indash MP3 into their CL? I have a 2001 CL, w/o the Nav, and would really like to add an mp3 player to my car. I am considering either the Aiwa or the Kenwood.

I've heard stuff about it conflicting with and not being able to coexist with the existing stereo setup etc .. please help.

Thanks!

The easiest way would be to get one of those players with a hard disk.. like Creative Nomad and use its output on the cd changer inputs on the back of our cdplayer.
Of course you could just buy a tape adapter and use that instead... but sound quality would be severly compromised.

I have a Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox and I use the tape adapter to listen to it.
Silver_Lana: Do you have any specifics on how to use the cd changer input on the back of our stereo for such a case? Or is it just a rca input?

Thanks

I would really like to have a player installed into the dash of my car .. i dont like the hassle of having it sit on my seat with a tape adapter or some other adapter to my main stereo. I'm looking for something that I can pop a mp3 data CD into and have it play ... have you guys seen the Aiwa / Kenwood systems I am talking about?

Aiwa CDC-MP3 @ $300
Kenwood Z919 @ $650.

I had added a small computer into the trunk of the car as an MP3 player. It worked well but i just couldnt find a nice place for the LCD i had. It was just to big. It was a 4x40 text lcd to display song name/artist and had an eq also. I will finnish it some day. I tapped directly into the bose amp and added in switches from radio shack to switch between the mp3 player and the sterio head unit. Any questions about this stuff feel free to drop me an e-mail. I have already done all the research.

I saw a review about an in dash MP3 player. I can find it if you want. Basically what is says it there is no good in dash MP3 solution around today. Lots of problems.

Yes i did but after i got the this lcd... it is about a half inch to wide. Maybe if i get serious i will get a smaller one. Still not quite sure how to get a wire from the trunk up into that area though. I know some people with the v-afc have done it. Looks nice.

Yes I have seen the two models above, I was going to get one for my sister but then Igot my car and was busy driving my car and forgot about the mp3 player thing for my sister. But I would be curious if those nomad players could plug into the back of our stereo.
